I’ve had a few requests to do a tutorial on my messy beach waves that I’ve posted on Instagram a few times. So, here is how I do it and the products I use. It literally takes about 4 minutes to curl my hair, 5 to let it cool down and then 1-2 minutes dressing it out, or that should be messing it up at the end.
My main product I use is the Irresistible Me Sapphire 8-in-1 Styler. I have to say I love this thing and although I’ve tried doing this with other tongs I have, the Sapphire always does a better job. I did a full review here (Click here) if you want to have a look at it. The barrel I use is the 32mm one. This achieves beautiful waves on longer hair and perfect beachy waves on shoulder length and up hair.
Heat protectant is a MUST when heat styling and the one I’ve been loving recently (I will be doing a review on these soon I promise) is the Batiste Heat and Shine spray. This is great as it protects the hair while heat styling (It is for dry hair and not wet hair) but also adds shine too. So after you have styled you can then spritz again for some extra gloss!
For the messy part of my beachy waves which in honesty is the most important when it comes to this style I use the Batiste Texture Me Texturizing Spray. A few sprays of this at the roots and mid lengths and a shake and scrunch of your hands and it adds great volume and dare I saw, mess? It adds texture and looks fab! If however you want a little more texture and ‘grit’, then the John Frieda Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray is amazing! It smells like a tropical paradise and adds the perfect amount of definition. I only use this product on the ends of my hair.
I love this style as I can wear it for a good 2-3 days and it lasts in my hair. Just a little more texturising spray after I’ve slept and I’m ready to go!
I hope you liked my tutorial and I hope it helps some people out there too who have shorter hair and want to create a similar look.
Lots of Love,
Mel xxxx
