Today’s post is a review on a product I’ve used for years, Seche Ultra-V Top Coat. In my top 5 top coats of all time this one is one I repurchase time and time again (I really think this has to be my tenth, maybe more bottle!).
Although I can’t do clients as much now because of my hands, I think the most asked question I would often get is how do I make my nail varnish last so long without wearing a uv top coat? Now there are things you can do to help make it last longer. Keeping your nail beds healthy, using cuticle oil daily, always wearing a base coat and a top coat and regular manicures. But some people just can’t wear nail polish for long without it chipping or falling off. This is often down to soft nail beds (Especially if you frequently have your hands wet or in water). So, the short answer is its best to wear a UV top coat if you do want it to last longer, however then you’ve got the agro of filling/soaking it off and the cost too. So what if there was a uv top coat that didn’t need to be soaked off and helped make your nail varnish last longer? This is where Seche Ultra-V Top Coat comes in.
Here is some information about the Seche Ultra-V Top Coat…
Seche Ultra-V is a UV activated top coat. Experience the strength and beauty of UV light with Seche Ultra-V. For a durable, long wearing, high gloss shine, simply apply Seche Ultra-V for newly manicured nails and place under a UV lamp for a three minute dry time.
Now, I know many of you are going to say, but you need a curing lamp etc and that’s true. Although there are a lot on the market these days that are fairly cheap, plus if you have any of the nail kits like Red Carpet, Rio etc they often come with lamps too.
Also unlike other UV Top Coats, Seche Ultra-V doesn’t need to be ‘wiped off’ after to remove any sticky residue, it dries hard on your nails and curing time is fairly minimal (3 minutes, although I tend to do 4 minutes on each hand) compared to some uv products for nails (Up to 10 minutes curing time).
I think my favourite thing about the Seche Ultra-V Top Coat is that I can do my nails, apply the top coat and cure it and they last about 4-7 days on me. If I choose to change my nail polish more frequently I can and I literally just hold a piece of cotton wool with some acetone based nail polish remover on my nail about 20-30 seconds and it wipes off. I don’t have that 5-10 minutes soaking time with buffing etc which could damage your nails more.
I’m not saying Seche Ultra-V Top Coat is the answer to everyone’s prayers when it comes to longevity with nail varnish, but I am saying for some this product will be great and if you do already have a UV Lamp I’d recommend giving it a go. As I said before, I repurchase this one all the time and its the one top coat I can get up to a weeks wear out of my nail polish with that doesn’t require soaking off.
