Review/Youtube: Battle of the Violet Toners (How I remove the Brassiness from my Blonde Hair)

06th July, 2012*update* this was filmed 2 weeks ago, the products mentioned are all good. But, I have found a product that is better, or was on my hair. I will be putting the blog post up on Monday for this product, so please check it out!

Having gone blonde again I’ve been using my fair share of toners to remove the brassiness from my hair. Some work better than others (Or faster as the case may be). I’ve based this review on products that are easily come by – whether from online (Such places like Amazon) or from high street pharmacies and supermarkets. I could have easily used Wholesale toners, but wanted to make this review about products that were easily come by for everyone.

The products mentioned in this review are;

Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Weekly Treatment Shampoo (Full Review Here) £3.09 from Boots

Fudge Paintbox Whiter Shade of Pale (Full Review Here) £7.38 from Amazon

Superdrug Colour Effects 8:1 Cool Blonde £1.25 in Superdrug (Although I have heard people say it was less than a £1)

Trevor Sorbie Ice Cool Platinum Shampoo and Conditioner £5.10 each in Boots

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Shampoo and Conditioner £5.89 each in Boots

This battle of the products I have used is purely based on my experience with them on Light Blonde (Base Shade 10) hair. Obviously if you have lighter blonde hair than this your experience could be significantly different from mine.

All products with the exception of Fudge’s Paintbox Whiter Shade of Pale are available from Boots or Superdrug, Whiter Shade of Pale was purchased through Amazon. You can however, buy it directly through Fudge.

I hope someone finds this useful, please do let me know of any other toning products to remove brassiness you have found as I would love to add them to my collection.

Lots of Love,

Mel xxxx
