Review: No7 Airbrush Away Primer

No 7 £5 voucher time in Boots comes around quite frequently and for those of us who don’t use many No 7 products it can be a bit poor. I’ve never been a massive fan of their foundations and to be fair I find many of their items over priced. So when I had yet another voucher from No 7 sitting in my purse I got to thinking I really should make an effort and rather than buying brushes like I usually do I will buy something from their makeup range instead.

I spent the evening surfing through the Boots website and happened too see the newly launched No 7 Airbrush Away Primer. The video they had posted on it looked really good. I have only ever used a few other primers in my life so don’t consider myself an expert but the video was informative and the primer looked great so without even looking at the price I went to Boots the next morning and picked it up.

The Airbrush Away Primer costs £19 for 30ml (£14 if you had a £5 off voucher for No 7) which in reality I feel is a little pricy. I’m sorry but I don’t think of No 7 as high end beauty and would rather spend money else where, but as I paid £14 this made it a little more easier to stomach shall we say – still would the product be worth it though?

According to the packaging, No 7 Airbrush Away Primer Claims;

‘Instantly magic away visible signs of ageing so skin looks younger all day’

I have been testing this product out now daily for a week and wanted to share my thoughts with you of what I thought and whether its changed my opinion of No 7 as a brand.

The packaging is quite low key, white box with the logo and information about the product. This is carried through to the product inside which is in a white tube with a black flip top lid. It is quite sturdy and it doesn’t look like the lid will break easy. So we have some plus points already.

No 7 Airbrush Away Primer On My Hand

The primer is white and creamy, much like my moisturisers but that’s where the similarities end. It is like silk on my face, I can’t express how soft it makes my skin! You only need a pea sized amount and this will cover your whole face. So the tube should last you a while. I find it is best to leave it a good few minutes (If not 5) before applying anything on top of the primer (I often put it on and the get dressed or brush my teeth while waiting).

No 7 Airbrush Away Primer On My Hand Absorbed After 5 Minutes. Notice lines on my hands are minimised!

After a few minutes I can see some of my ‘lines’ on my face have disappeared and I’m not joking! Around my eyes and my ‘frown’ lines are now minimal compared to before! All this from a primer within 5 minutes!

I have used this primer with 5 different foundations and found it works great with all of them. Some (Bourjois Healthy Mix) you need to work into the skin a little faster as it tends to cake a bit with the primer, but over all the finish is great. You look pretty flawless and this lasts throughout the day!

All the images below are high resolution – if you click on them you will get a larger image and will be able to see more detail of the the primer and what it can do to the skin….

My skin bare of all makeup with just moisturiser (Just scary please look away!!)

My Skin with just No 7 Airbrush Away Primer. As you can see the lines around my eyes and my frown lines are minimised.

Skin with No 7 Airbrush Away Primer and Foundation (Bourjois Healthy Mix in Light Beige). As you can see my skin appears quite flawless. I am not wearing any concealer and all I have put on is foundation over the primer. There is minimal lines too!!

No 7 Airbrush Away Primer with Full Face of makeup – I’m seriously impressed and have been since the first day I started using it!

Best of all, I have had no reaction at all to this Primer. One thing I can say for No 7 is their products are hypo-allergenic and sensitive skin like mine can appreciate their products! In fact my daughter who has a severe allergy to anything makeup (We found out one day after using face paints!! Her face swells up like a balloon like she’s gone 10 rounds with Tyson minus the bruising) can also use their products.

So, over all?

I really do love this primer! I use it daily, it makes my makeup last throughout the day, leaves my skin soft and smooth and also helps with some of my fine lines. Don’t get me wrong I have pretty severe frown lines but it does minimise them and I’m hoping in the pictures I’ve taken you will be able to see this.

For £19 I think it is worth the money as I would imagine the tube would last maybe a couple of months? Hopefully they will keep chucking out £5 vouchers as that definitely softens the blow. The product does appear for me to do what it says too. I think if you are the start of fine lines showing (Mine are a little deeper now) you would probably notice more of a difference. Results will definitely vary from person to person.

Has it changed my thoughts on No 7 as a brand?

In honesty…. Yes. I think I will look into some other No 7 products now and give them a go. I’m not going to say I’m going to go crazy and on a spending spree but I may pick up a lippie or mascara at some point and see how it fairs. Its surprising how much 1 product can change your views on a brand but with the Airbrush Away Primer No 7 have done just that for me!

Have you tried Airbrush Away Primer yet?

Lots of Love,

Mel xxxx
