Here is the technical detail for those who like to be in the know…
At last, the ultimate super-waver with serious attitude! Not for the faint hearted the first one of its kind and totally unique. Because no two curls are ever the same, my Bad Girl Glam Wicked Waver gives you the dishevelled textured waves you’ve always wanted in a flutter of an eyelash.
Unique multiple barrel technology giving you curls and waves easier than ever before
Variable heat from 120oC to 200oC for the ultimate styling experience
In the box you have a complete style guide with handy hints and tips, a heat protective glove and the very striking Mark Hill Bad Girl Glam Wicked Waver. Apart from the unusual shaped barrel of the Wicked Waver the first thing I noticed was the salon length power lead/cord! I hate it when appliances give you stupid short cables, do companies not realise that you may stand to do your hair, or maybe not be that near to a power point? Either way, the 3 metre cable you get with this Waver should cater to most power needs.
The unique shaped barrel is what makes the Mark Hill Bad Girl Glam Wicked Waver special. As Mark Hill says, ‘No 2 curls are the same’ That’s because it would fairly hard to wind the hair exactly the same, in the same place and way with this barrel. In case the image isn’t that clear I would liken it to this shape…
A long stick thats swallowed a couple of balls which have gotten stuck.
I could also compare it to something else, but I just can’t bring myself to actually say it. So we shall stick with the above analogy.
Whether you take large or small sections, you can create some really interesting waves and curls with the Wicked Waver. Its really quite fun to play with, I’ve done my hair several times with it now (Both with and without extensions) and my daughters and have to say I was impressed.
The Mark Hill Bad Girl Glam Wicked Waver has a digital display which tells you what temperature you have it set on. You can easily adjust this with the ‘-‘ and ‘+’ symbols. The temperature goes up and down in 10 degree increments. This is also where the power button is located. Unlike a couple of other styling tools who have their buttons situated in the same place, the Wicked Wavers buttons are ‘flush’ with the tool, so its hard to accidentally turn it off. I used to do this all the time with another tool and it drove me insane!
Another plus point in my books is the automatic shut off! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten paranoid thinking I’ve left a heated appliance on and had to go home to check (This usually happens on a long journey when I’m at least an hour from home!). I always double check 2 or 3 times that I’ve turned something off, but with the Wicked Waver, if I had forgotten it would turn its self off for me.
I think with all heated appliances, the proof really is in the pudding – or hair style as the case may be. So, I have taken some shots for you to show you what I achieved…
This is from the first time I used the Mark Hill Bad Girl Glam Wicked Waver – I was astounded. I always wanted something that gave me that beachy waves look without having to use my straighteners and I have to save the Wicked Waver gives me just that!
A side shot to show you the mixture of texture. Notice how the curls aren’t uniform, that’s what makes this styler so much fun. I love that its messy, yet looks ‘dressed’ – in an ideal world this is probably my ideal hair tool!
This is the effects of the Mark Hill Bad Girl Glam Wicked Waver before messy it up and ‘undressing’ the curls/waves a bit. It still looks nice and loose and relaxed. There is some uniformness to the curls, but not enough that it looks ‘set’. It takes me about 8 minutes to curl all my hair and then another 2 (Well, about 90 seconds) to dress and spray my hair. Yes, its that quick and easy!
Over all, I really love the Mark Hill Bad Girl Glam Wicked Waver. It gives me beautiful loose waves which last really well, both in my hair, extensions and even my daughters waist length thick hair. I found it really easy to use and if my 12 year old daughter can work out how to do it, anyone can!
