Review: L’Oréal Excellence Creme Hair Colour in 4.35 Dark Caramel Brown

As I’m redoing my hair today and using a different shade, I thought I’d pop a review up of it too. I’ve reviewed a L’Oreal Excellence product before (Reviews here), but I always find it handy when I am looking about on colour reviews to actually see the results of peoples hair using it – that’s why I reviewed nearly all the dyes I use.

The colour I chose today to use is Dark Caramel Brown. What I’m aiming to do is add some ‘warmth’ back into the ombre ends as they are very ashy at present and do my lighter roots too.  I don’t really like ‘warm’ colours in my hair even though I envy those ladies who can pull them off – I’m just the wrong skin tone.

As with most box dyes its a pretty easy process. You apply this product to DRY UNWASHED HAIR. The only difference is the SERUM which comes with it. If your hair is damaged at all, I really recommend this brand because of the serum as I find it does help. The serum is applied to the ends mostly and midlengths before colouring. Do no get this on the roots as the colour result may be uneven.

I left the colour on for 25 minutes, I know they say 30 but I never leave mine on that length of time. Once it was ready to come off I rinsed and then conditioned.

The result was pretty good. It toned and darkened the ends to a base 4 with a warm tone. The midlengths are the same as the ends with the roots showing a little more warmth but when your hair is a dark blonde naturally unfortunately its going to happen (Remember, tint applied to tint will bring a darker shade).

Over all I’m happy with the result. Its darker than I would have gone but the coverage is better and its better for the next step of sorting my ombre out. The post for this will be up shortly. There’s a lot of shine to my hair, it doesn’t look anymore damaged than before and its extremely soft.

I purchased my L’Oréal Excellence Creme Hair Colour in 4.35 Dark Caramel Brown from Amazon (As I have Prime and wanted it here the next day) for £5.72. You can however purchase it in most Boots, Superdrug and Supermarkets.

Lots of Love,

Mel xxxx
