Review: Liz Earle Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil

Today I’d like so share my thoughts with you on a new product from Liz Eare, their Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil.

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil

Here is some information about the Liz Earle Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil….

Our Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil conditions and smooths your hair for a luminous shine, while protecting against heat damage caused by styling. This multi-tasking oil even reduces blow-drying time.

Lightweight yet luxurious, our hair oil has been developed to work in harmony with our Botanical Shine Shampoo, Conditioners and Treatment. It can be applied to wet hair before blow-drying or used to add the finishing touches to your style by taming frizz and smoothing the appearance of split ends.

Before blow-drying, apply 1-2 pumps to towel-dried hair before styling as usual.

Naturally active ingredients include Kenyan yangu oil, coconut oil and radish seed oil for their smoothing, softening, moisturising and shine-boosting properties.

When you hair is as dry and bleached as mine is at present, you tend to look for products that are going to help with its condition. I have been using a lot of different hair oils since going back blonde, so was really interested to see how the Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil from Liz Earle would fair with me hair, especially when its designed for ALL HAIR TYPES and not aimed at just one.

What first drew me to how good this product could be was the natural active ingredients; kenyan yangu oil, radish seed oil and coconut oil. Now, if you do follow my blog or my youtube channel you will have seen how much love I have for products that contain Coconut Oil. For me, its one of the best things you can apply to your hair and really can help with damage and condition.

I also was very curious about its ‘lightweight’ formula claims, obviously many people with finer hair thats combination (Greasy roots but dry ends and mid-lengths) struggle with hair oils as they can weigh the hair down or make it appear lank and dull.

Here are my findings….

  • The formula is extremely lightweight. Although an oil it doesn’t have the same texture as an Argon Oil and feels lighteter on the hands and hair. So, I feel will be more suitable for all hair types.
  • If you love the natural fragrance of Liz Earle products, then you will love this one. It has that unique scent that many of the Liz Earle products have – natural, sweet and fruity. Its hard to describe but one I really love. This fragrance lingers on your hair lightly too.
  • You need very little of the product. I have below shoulder length hair and I used about a pump. That was all I needed, this was when I was applying the hair oil to my towel dried hair.
  • If you have fly aways and a little frizz after a blowdry and pinpoint sized amount on your hands, warmed by rubbing them together and then lightly worked over the flyaways, gives you a smooth appearance with plenty of shine. It doesn’t make your hair look greasy, just fresh and glossy.
  • It made my hair feeling extremely soft and look in a lot better condition.

Overall, I was really impressed with this hair oil. If I had to liken it to another product it would probably be L’Oreal Mythic Oil. They are very similar although I found that the Liz Earle Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil was a lighter formula, so feel it will be more suited to all hair types as it suggests.
