Review: Living Nature’s Summer Rain Lipstick

With Summer upon us (Well, at times – it is weather depending) my make up tends to be a little more natural. I still like to wear a good lipstick though and will admit, when it comes to finish I can be very picky. I want a lipstick that is moisturising, without shimmer, not sticky and doesn’t come off within seconds – this is probably why I have so many lipsticks as finding a finish I love is a tall order.

When I was recently asked if I would like to try a Living Nature lipstick I could only say yes! I have tried a few other products by Living Nature (Reviews are here) and found all of them to be of a really high standard and amazing quality, picking a favourite would be too hard as I have loved every product I’ve tried! What appealed to my even more was the colour of the lipstick which I was offered, for the Great British Summer a very aptly named, ‘Summer Rain’.

Here’s a little information about Living Nature’s Summer Rain Lipstick…

Colour your lips with the soft and subtle shades of nature. These moisture rich lipsticks include vegetable waxes for smooth application, and are lead-free and certified natural.

We named our lipsticks after things we all love here at Living Nature.

Application: Apply after lining lips with Living Nature lip pencil in required shade. For longer lasting lipstick – tissue lip area after first application and re-apply.

With me as I explained above I want a lot from a lipstick, it can’t just be the right colour. Living Nature have really outdone themselves with this formula, the lipstick is extremely moisturising on the lips but still pigmented. The colour although a deeper shade of dusky pink is build-able in shade and doesn’t feather or bleed out on older lips (Thanks to my Mum for trying that aspect out for me).

Summer Rain is a gorgeous dusky rose colour, its a cream shade so there is no shimmer or glitter to it. Just beautiful colour which glides over the lips. I am also impressed with how the lipstick lasts too. When wearing lipstick (Any kind) I always apply one layer, blot with tissue and then apply another. I find this is the best way to get lasting power (Less I am wearing a matt lipstick in which case I only wear 1 coat). Summer Rain doesn’t dry your lips out at all leaving them looking hydrated.

Unlike many lipsticks I’ve tried lately which are meant to be hydrating and moisturising, Living Nature’s formula isn’t sticky nor does it have a nasty texture. In fact it doesn’t really feel like a lipstick at all on your lips, rather a good balm.

Living Nature’s Summer Rain Lipstick Swatch on Lips

I’m so glad I was giving the chance to try a Living Nature lipstick but more happy I was sent Summer Rain. It really is a beautiful shade on my lips and will match many skin tones. In the swatch above I am only wearing the lipstick and have applied it straight from the stick, I’ve not even used a brush. As you can see it looks really good and has amazing coverage and pigmentation. My lips don’t look dry at all and feel amazing.

Since being sent this lipstick I have worn it almost daily. It has become my favourite and I’m not usually a ‘pink’ lipstick girl. I will definitely be repurchasing this myself. With regards to price, with Living Nature you are paying for high quality products. I would liken many of their products I have tried to high-end branded products with more ‘reasonable’ price tags. You are paying for quality and I feel £15.00 for this lipstick is more than worthy!

For more information on Living Nature products why not check out their website. The Living Nature lipsticks are £15.00 and come in a wide range of beautiful shades.
