Of all the things I love to review, hair extensions is probably my favourite! Today I would like to share with you Hair Streaks Clip-In Hair Extensions, something that’s quick and easy to instantly change your look!
When it comes to clip-in hair extensions, I like to think I know my stuff. I have been using them personally on myself a few years now (Clients a lot longer) and have tried a variety of brands. There are certain things I look for and I think personally are essential when it comes to clip-in hair extensions of any kind;
- Secure clips with the rubber insert, so they are more comfortable and less damaging to the hair.
- The weft seams should be well machined to prevent loss of hair from the extension weft.
- They are good quality, 100% remy/remi human hair (So, they can be styled with heated appliances)
- The hair is of a reasonable thickness and not thin and whispy
- Evenness of colour (Also, no random grey/different coloured hairs within the weft)
It may sound like a tall order, but finding a good quality clip-in hair extension that covers all these basis at a reasonable price can be really hard! I have found all those things in something that’s really affordable and will switch up your hair in a matter of seconds – Hair Streaks.
Hair Streaks are made by Undercover Glamour who also stock some really great other products, I really recommend you check them out they have some great products on there that aren’t just hair related!
I have 2 sets of Hair Streaks to share with you today; 1 set of Blue Hair Streaks and 1 Set of Dark Brunette #4 (A chocolate brown colour).
The Hair Streaks are 2 individual 1″ wefts which measure 18″ in length. Being 100% human hair means you can curl, straight, crimp… Well, the possibilities are really endless! The Hair Streaks are clip-in extensions, so secured in your hair with 1 clip in seconds. You can place them wherever you want too, although I like to wear mine a the nape of my neck so they come forward onto my shoulders.
What I especially love about the Hair Streaks at Undercover Glamour was their sheer range of colours they do! They have 15 different colours available and not all ‘bright fashion’ colours either, no they also have shades of brown, blonde and even a black!
With me being exceptionally picky when it comes to clip-in hair extensions I was really impressed with the quality of the Hair Streaks. The seams are exceptionally well sewn and while I’ve been using them I have not noticed any ‘shedding’ something you often can get with clip-in extensions.
The clips are really secure too and very comfortable. They have the ‘rubber’ strip under the clip, so they are really safe on your hair and unlikely to ‘drag’ and snag your hair. Mine did not come out at all while I was wearing them, nor did I need to adjust the clips.
As with many fashion colour extensions (My daughters are obsessed with then) I was exceptionally impressed with the colouring of the blue ones. The colouring was even, not patchy at all and was good throughout the length of the extension weft. We have paid twice what the Hair Streaks cost before on similar products on the high street and in honesty, they don’t hold a candle to the Hair Streaks at all!
The Shade #4 Dark Brunette look really natural with my hair at present. I currently have Base shade #5 medium brown hair with slightly ombre ends and I found the Dark Brunette Hair Streaks gave me a low-light, almost Balayage effect! Very in for 2013 and it took me seconds to apply them.
The Blue Hair Streaks are bright and funky! I really loved these. They look good with a wide range of hair colours (My daughters light blonde hair looked amazing with them!) and worked well with my ombre ends too. I especially love to wear the fashion shade hair streak colours when I wear my hair curly. This is a look my daughters often try to replicate because of their love of the Nickelodeon Show, Victorious and the character Jade.
Now for the best part, when we have purchased products before like the Hair Streaks from the High Street we have paid anything up to £10 and often for synthetic hair, the clips are usually awful and I’ve ended up re-sewing them myself. The Hair Streaks at Undercover Glamour all cost £6.99 for 2 wefts. The prices is amazing for good quality human hair and the quality of the wefts too. From now on I know where I’ll be buying my Hair Streaks for my children and myself – Undercover Glamour!
