It’s always nice to get something in the post – especially when you’ve forgotten all about it! Today my first subscription from FeelUnique arrived. As many of you will know so many companies now are jumping on the band wagon of the Birchbox idea. I’ve subscribed too Glossybox, Boudoir Prive, Camine and Beauty Box as I wanted to see whether one was better than any of the others.

Here’s my thoughts and feelings on FeelUnique’s Beauty Box and whether I feel it is worth the subscription.

The packaging is something to be held – I have to be honest at first I looked at it and thought, ‘Wow a black box – woop’ (Sorry can you hear the sarcasm) but then I realised I had it upside down – yes I am being serious. Upon turning it the right way I found pretty metalic fuchsia print which looked striking against the black of the box. Also on the side you have a pink ribbon ‘pulley’ tab. I love that the box is almost like a ‘draw.’

Inside the box we have displayed in black string like paper the 6 goodies which are for this October box. There is also a card telling you what is inside your box and offering you 10% off any of the brands inside your box when you buy them through the FeelUnique site. The theme for the October box is ‘Pre-Winter Warmers’

Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash – A two-in-one-oil-free exfoliation wash for all skin types this fresh, fruity cleaner contains ros hip extract, milk thistle, passion flower and chamomile. Splash your face with water, apply generously  over face and neck, massage, rinse well and then moisturise.

This product looks good, it smells nice and being oil free I am sure it will be suitable for most skin types. I have a feeling it may be a little drying on my skin as I already suffer with dry skin but I’ll still give it a go and see how it is. Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash is £18.40 for 197ml the sample in the box contains 60ml.

Orly Nail Lacquer (In Terracotta) – Slick on a bold hue for high impact colour and shine. This exciting and durable nail lacquer is on trend for all occasions! Fast drying, long-lasting, high gloss nail colours free of DBP, Fomaldehyde and Toluene. Apply 2 coats after a base coat and finish with a top coat.

I have always been a fan of Orly and also used this exact colour as a NOTD post. I find their nail varnishes to be very good and durable and Orly was always one of my first choices when I used to see my Nail Technician. £8.75 for 18ml, the sample in the BeautyBox is 5.3ml in size.

TIGI Catwalk Sleek Mystique Straight Collection Blow Out Balm – Inspired by the mysterious Orient, this blow out balm give a smooth, glossy, frizz-free finish without sacrificing natural fullness. For the perfect blow out, smooth balm through hair and blow dry in sections using a round or paddle brush.

The Balm is clear and very much like a serum. I would not imagine you would need a lot of this product as it may make your hair greasy otherwise.  It has a gorgeous fresh scent which kind of reminds of of a floral perfume but I can’t put my finger on which one. I like the Catwalk collection from TIGI so think this product will be amazing! The TIGI Catwalk Sleek Mystique Straight Collection Blow Out Balm is £10.35 for 90ml, the same size as the sample in the BeautyBoy, worth MORE than the subscription cost!

Caudalie Vinexpert Radiance Day Fluid SPF10 – This energising fluid with SPF10 offers complete firming, protective and anti-wrinkle action along with the optimum moisture to ensure a glowing complexion all day long.

This product I really like! It smells subtly sweet and is absorbed into the skin really well. It leaves the skin with a nice sheen too. Not greasy but I don’t think this product will work with my dry skin. The Caudalie Vinexpert Radiance Day Fluid is £30.60 for 30ml, the sample in the box is of 10ml size.

Crabtree and Everlyn Indie Hicks Island Living Spider Lily Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy – Escape the busy demands of your day with the exotic scent of an island paradise. A lightweight shea butter formula blended with conditioning macadamia nut oil and aloe that soothes and moisturises. A luxurious way to keep your hands soft.

Being complete obsessive when it comes to hand cream this is probably my favourite product in the Beauty Box. I love Crabtree and Evelyn products and find them to always be of a very high quality. The cream smells fruity and fresh and a pea size amount was enough to make my hands feel soft and supple. Crabtree and Everlyn Indie Hicks Island Living Spider Lily Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy is £8.00 for 50g. The sample size is 25g.

Also in this Beauty Box which isn’t listed on the card is a sample of Burberry, ‘Body’ fragrance. I am not a huge Burberry fan – coming from Essex there’s just to much association with the whole ‘Chav’ thing – but I will say this, the fragrance smells really quite nice. It has a warm, slightly spicy wood like smell. Something more earthy and I would say for a more mature person than someone in their teens or twenties.

The Beauty Box from FeelUnique is priced at £9.95 and is a monthly subscription service. If you do like all the products in it (Which you will have no way of knowing until it is ordered) I feel it is worth the money. The idea of these boxes is to try new products you may not have access too before for whatever reason – whether financially, an international company or being a new company on the market. I always like that I find something new with these boxes that I generally would never have tried before – that to me is the purpose of these boxes.

I liked my Beauty Box and will continue my subscription for another month to see what goodies I get next time. I am extremely happy with my Hand Cream from Crabtree and Evelyn and can’t wait to try the Tigi Catwalk balm. The skin care products will probably be wasted on me as I have trouble switching about with them on my skin. I already like the Orly Terracotta nail varnish as you will see from a previous NOTD post on it and was impressed with the Burberry Body fragrance.

In comparison to the other boxes out there; the BeautyBox by FeelUnique seems well tailored to most people if the boxes sent out are generic. I don’t think the boxes are customisable, but I may be wrong. I would probably liken the BeautyBox at present too Glossy Box. I still feel Boudoir Prive is a high class box for people who are in their 30’s+ but that is purely my opinion.

I hope you have liked my review and thoughts on the Beauty Box by FeelUnique, will you be subscribing?

Lots of Love,

Mel xxxx
