A while ago I was sent some Avène products to try on my skin. As many of you may know; I have quite sensitive skin which is prone to eczema, psoriasis and being quite dry. Although most of the time it doesn’t flair up with makeup it often will flair with moisturisers and skin products.
I am always willing to try new things and when I was sent the Avène Eau Thermale Rich Skin Recovery Cream I was interested to see how it would be in regards to reactions on my skin and whether it would help with my skin problems. The Eau Thermale range from Avène is unique in that it is designed for people with sensitive, intolerant and allergy prone skin.
Here is some information taken from the Avène UK website ‘Calming cream specifically designed for naturally sensitive skin (fair, thin, prone to redness), or skin which has become sensitive due to different aggressions (climatic conditions, excessive cleansing, drying cosmetic or dermatological treatments…). It quickly calms irritation, helps restore the hydrolipidic film and provides long-lasting protection. Its formula has been specially developed with a minimum of ingredients, all selected for their gentleness. Paraben preservative, fragrance and colouring agent free. Rich formula.’
Before using the Eau Thermale Rich Skin Recovery Cream from Avène I had been using Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream. I had found this to be really good on my skin as it left it soft and moisturised and didn’t cause me any problems. I usually gradually will swap to a new cream but didn’t transition at all and stopped using Oilatum and went straight onto the Skin Recovery Cream. I did not notice any reactions at all! This cream is extremely moisturising, a little goes a long way and when massaged into the face and neck you are left with moisturised glowing skin. I really cannot express how impressed I am with this product. My skin lost its dullness and the red patches where my skin is sensitive or sore went over a few days period.
The picture above is showing just how the cream is absorbed into your skin. Unlike other rich moisturisers which can leave you looking ‘white’ or washed out Rich Skin Recovery Cream leaves your skin looking healthy.
I also found that the Skin Recovery Cream was perfectly fine to put my foundation on afterwards and the dry patches under my eyes and around my nose were less visible with the cream on. My skin actually looked ‘Normal’ something I have not experienced in years.
It is recommended you use the Rich Skin Recovery Cream morning and night after cleansing.
Avène Eau Thermal Skin Recovery Cream can be purchased from most Boots stores and costs £12.50, not the cheapest of face creams but an investiment I feel I will be making from now on due to the amazing results I have had on my skin.
Have you tried any of the Avène Eau Thermale range?
