While some people get excited about stationary, I get excited about new makeup brushes. Todays review is on the Real Techniques Limited Edition Duo Fibre Set.
Having had the Real Techniques Limited Edition Duo Fibre Set for about 2 months now I have given the brushes a good and thorough testing. I thought it was about time I shared my thought on them with you.
Here is a little information about the Duo Fibre Set…
Create buildable color and add texture to look pixel perfect for any occasion and in any light with this first and only duo-fiber set:
- includes 3 limited edition brushes:
- duo-fiber face brush: for lightweight application

- a true multi-tasker – duo-fiber bristles work with cream, liquid or powder for an unbelievably air-brushed finish
- ultra-plush, synthetic taklon bristles are hand-cut and 100% cruelty-free
- extended aluminum handles are light and easy to use
I have almost all the Real Technique brushes now (Including the Miracle Complexion Sponge – review is coming shortly!) and to say I am a huge fan is an understatement. As you probably know, Real Techniques is run by Samatha Chapman (Recently her sister Nicola Chapman-Haste has teamed with her) probably better know as Sam and Nic from Pixiwoo, they are also both incredible MUA!
The Duo Fibre Set consists of 3 brushes; Face Brush, Contour Brush and Eye Brush. To say these brushes make application easier is an understatement! If you struggle with blending products, then these could really help you get it right.
When I first started using the Duo Fibre Set I wasn’t that impressed. Yes the brushes were great quality like all the Real Technique brushes but they didn’t scream, ‘different’ too me and I was expecting more from something labeled as ‘Limited Edition’ etc. However, after a while of using them I started to realise just how much I liked them.
The Face Brush is my favourite brush now for blending my powders and making sure I am flawless and not cakey or powdery. It makes powder application a doddle, buffs out harsh lines from contouring and is great for applying bronzer too. Being the largest brush in the set it gets things done fast. It also dries quicker than my other Real Technique brushes.
The Contour Brush had a lot to live up too. I use my Contour Brush from the Core Collection (Review Here) daily and its probably my most used brush out of all my brushes! The Duo Fibre Contour brush is perfect if you don’t want a harsh contour and hate buffing out products. It cuts down application time I find and I also use mine as a blush brush too. Although it hasn’t made my Core collection Contour brush redundant this is a brush I use often.
The Eye Brush is amazing. I have always loved my Sigma E25 blending brush, it makes blending so easy and is lovely. However, that was until I tried the Due Fibre Eye Brush. If you like to contour your crease and struggle with blending you have to try this brush! This brush I use every day! Whether I’m wearing eye shadow or just running a little bronzer through my crease for some definition this is the brush I use. It takes no time at all to blend out any lines due to the brush shape. Do not be put off by its size, it is just right! It is also perfect for contouring your nose subtly, but you do have to be really gentle with how much product you use.
As with ALL of the Real Technique brushes I have NEVER had any shedding at all and it has been the same for these ones too.
One thing I have noticed about these brushes in comparison to my other Real Techniques brushes is they don’t feel as soft. I am not saying they feel rough either though. However on another note, these brushes definitely dry a lot faster than the other brushes (Even the larger Face Brush) which is a definite perk.
Overall, I’m so glad to have added these too my collection. They are amazing quality brushes and I love using them as part of my daily makeup routine.
Although these are Limited Edition brushes they are still available, although how long for I don’t know, so if you are interested in owning them I would recommend getting them sooner rather than later in case they do take them off of the shelves.
Lots of Love,
