I think most people have heard about Olaplex, but there’s a new kid in town and its called PurePlex. What’s even better is PurePlex can be bought by anyone, is not a professional product and sounds almost to good to be true. The questions is, can PurePlex really be the answer to healthier, stronger hair?

Before I really go into my review of PurePlex I would like to make a couple of things clear. I did not get sent this product to review, in fact its taken me a good month to get my hands on the PurePlex Revolutionary Hair Repair System as its never in stock online, nor in my local store. So, this review is based on my thoughts and hard earned pennies. Also, EVERYONES hair is different! So, what works for one person may not work for another. I haven’t found many reviews on PurePlex, the treatment or the shampoo/conditioner in the same range. They also have a hair dye range too and the only review I found easily were on Superdrug and not Bloggers. That being said, here are my thoughts.

Having tried all 3 of the Olaplex products and still regularly use Olaplex no.3 (This product you can purchase from official stockists and can be purchased by anyone, its only No.1 and No.2 that are professional products) I know them to be great products. I’ve also tried ColorpHlex (Not as great as Olaplex but did help while bleaching) and Color Secret Hair Strengthening (It ranks up there with ColorpHlex). So, when it comes to hair strengthening products, I have tried a few. Although please note Olaplex (1&2 are mostly used in colouring), ColorpHlex and Color Secret are used when colouring the hair for protection. Still, seeing a product like PurePlex (Wow, so many uses of the word PLEX here!) on a consumer market that Ms Average Jo can by is great. If it works obviously. So PurePlex is basically like Olaplex treatment you would have at a salon using Olaplex 1 and 2 and not using while colouring your hair – I hope that makes sense!

PurePlex Revolutionary Hair Repair System is a single use treatment to repair damaged hair from chemical treatments (Bleaching, colouring, perming, straightening chemically etc) and heat styling. The system is a 4 part process which takes under an hour (About 30 minutes give or take). The before and after on the box show bleached hair going from frazzled/dry to smooth and glossy.

The instructions are detailed enough that you can’t go wrong. Also each product in the box is labeled, so hard to get in the wrong order as long as you read the packaging/instructions. As with all my reviews I have taken a before and after for you using this PurePlex system. I have not used any treatment for 3 weeks before using this system to get a true result, to see just how much I change my hair look at my Instagram. At present its a medium blonde with a root drag (It was darker 2 weeks ago).

Over all I was pretty impressed by the results from PurePlex. My hair didn’t feel any softer, but I didn’t have an issue with dryness before using it. My hairs always fairly soft. But I did notice a difference in how smooth my hair was. Almost as if I’d taken the time to blow dry it, when it reality the after picture if me rough drying my hair without any product on what so ever. Now I know the results won’t be the same for everyone, our hair history and types are completely unique. But I do think most people would notice a difference by trying this product. For £12.99 I think its a steal compared to other salon services and products. Is it as good as Olaplex? Well, that’s hard to say. I want to be honest and say no as I’ve used Olaplex quite a while to see the results. But maybe if I continued using this treatment it may be quite close. Either way, I think this is a great hair treatment and one I’d recommend for the price and ease of availability.

PurePlex Revolutionary Hair Repair System is available at Superdrug stores and online. It costs £12.99 for the one step treatment. Also in the range is  Knight and Wilson PurePlex Bond Reconstructing Shampoo and Knight and Wilson PurePlex Bond Reconstructing Conditioner both priced at £7.99 each.
