Having tried many Paul & Joe products and loved them, today I would like to share with you the Silky Smooth Foundation UV I have been trying out these past 2 weeks and my thoughts on it…
Here is a little information Paul & Joe Silky Smooth Foundation UV…
Paul & Joe Silky Smooth Foundation UV is a transformative liquid foundation which delivers a complete coverage to create a poreless finish.
Experience a new foundation sensation with this light and airy foundation; Silky Smooth Foundation UV has a soft liquid base which allows for superior coverage and delivers a pleasant powdery quality to create a soft matte texture.
Baby Mint, Honeysuckle and White Lily Extracts work synergistically with Sodium Hyaluronate and Orange Flower Water to moisturise the skin whilst Gardenia Jasminodes Extract controls melanin production for a naturally smoother skin tone. Boasting SPF25 protection against sun damage, Silky Smooth Foundation UV offers powerful UV protection and utilises Crystalline Cellulose to adsorb excess oil and sebum.
Silky Smooth Foundation UV adheres seamlessly to the skin to cover blemishes and smooth the surface texture, leaving the complexion looking perfectly flawless.
Now as I do lovely packaging and the packaging for these foundations is not only unique, but beautiful I feel I have to comment on that first. If you want a classic looking bottle of foundation then you needn’t look no further than the Silk Smooth Foundation. The bottle is just so beautiful, I love having this out on my dresser!
I have 2 of the shades in the Silky Smooth Foundation UV from Paul & Joe, 101 Cameo and 102 Fresh. The 2 shades I have are on the ‘lighter scale’ as you can see from the shade range image below. There are 7 shades in total. My face is quite pale and although I have taken to fake tanning again (I do not fake tan my face, just up my neck), shade 101 Cameo matches my face skin tones, however at present 102 Fresh matches my neck, so that is the shade I have been using most often.
The Silky Smooth foundation is a liquid product and pigmented in my opinion. You can get good medium coverage from about a pump of product. I generally use 2 pumps of the product on my face and this covers up most of my blemishes. However, I have been using 102 as my main foundation shade and then using a small amount of 101 as a highlighting product (So under my ears, along the bridge of my nose, chin and forehead). This has been giving me a great finish and been my go to favourite base at present!
I have been using a variation of tools for applying this foundation. Although a foundation brush or buffing brush both work well, this foundation on myself is best applied with a damp cosmetics sponge. Using this method I can get amazing coverage. This is a very build-able foundation and although the consistency in my opinion is quite heavy, it feels very light on the face. Being a matte finish I always worry about looking ‘flat’ but this foundation makes me skin look smooth and fresh still even with a matte finish.
If you would like to see how this foundation looks on camera, I was wearing this in my What’s In My Makeup Bag – March Video (See it here), I also talk about the foundation too. But I think both show just how good of a coverage you can get.
Over all, I’ve been really impressed. I find the Silky Smooth Foundation lasts throughout the day on my face. It looks fresh without looking flat, its smooth and matte and I find I don’t need to powder too much to set it (A mild dusting is all I need although in both the video and image above I am not wearing powder). My psoriasis didn’t have a reaction too it either even though it has a light sweet fragrance. It just feels so luxurious on the face and is a firm favourite of mine at present. I would recommend this foundation to those with oily to normal skin, if you do have some drier patches (Like myself), as long as the skin is well nourished and moisturised this foundation works well.
The Paul & Joe Silky Smooth Foundation UV is available in 7 shades and comes in a 30ml 1 fl.oz bottle (This is a pump action bottle). It costs £32 and is available in store at Harrods, Knightsbridge, Fenwick, New Bond Street, Selfridges, ASOS.com and beautybay.com.
