I have 4 products to show you from the collection and to give you my opinions of. As I said in my spotlight post, MEOW! (Post Here) has always been my favourite collection due to the packaging, but the beautiful range of pastels used in My Secret Garden is so beautiful, I think this could be my new favourite.
The products I am reviewing today from the Limited Edition My Secret Garden Collection are;
Color Powder in Azalea (089), Lipstick in Rosebud (086), Lipstick Retro Casing (013) and Nail Enamel in Petunia (038).
The Color Powder was the product I was the most excited about from the whole collection. Labeled as a Color powder, this product has multiple uses and can be used anywhere to create a flush or glow, depending on the shade you have. The Color Powder I have is in the Retro Casing, which is good as it matches my lipstick casing too.
Azalea has a beautiful pastel blue design on top and the P&J logo. These are only in a fine layer and do not go throughout the product. When initially mixed you have a beautiful pastel violet from the pink and blue. Once you get through the layer, there’s a gorgeous pink flush that reminds me of a MAC blush (Giggly, without the sheen). This Color Powder is matte and pigmented, its easily built up on the skin.
I have really enjoyed using the Color Powder and am glad I was not disappointed, its everything I thought it would be and more. It looks beautiful on the cheeks and warms up my pale face, giving it that English Rose look. I also think with Spring coming it looks lovely as an eyeshadow too and really brings out my blue eyes. If you like a matte lipstick, this is lovely dotted over the lips – it really is a multi purpose product and I will be looking at picking up the other 2 colours too (So watch out for more swatches!).
The Paul & Joe Beaute My Secret Garden Limited Edition Color Powders £20 each, available in 3 shades and contain 5g 0.17oz of product.
The Retro striped (013) casing is bold and stands out. I love the fact you can interchange the casings on the lipsticks. It means you can put your favourite casing on and know which lipstick it is instantly! I have a few different casings now from Paul & Joe and when out its the one thing people comment on if they see me applying lipstick. From bold to subtle, you can easily make a statement with them.
The Paul & Joe Beaute My Secret Garden Lipstick Casings are £7 each and available in 3 designs.
I love lipsticks with patterns on them, however I then don’t want to use them because of the ruining intricate pattern! This beautiful lipstick from Paul & Joe is Rosebud in (086). If you do not like bright vivid colours, do not be afraid. This lipstick may look scary and strong, but its really isn’t.
Rosebud is a sheer red toned lipstick, its your lips with that flushed glossy look like you have been kissing in My Secret Garden. I adore this colour as it has the texture and hydration of a lipbalm with a stained strawberry colour. Its almost a red lipstick, but not quite.
You can also layer it slightly to give a strong shade. This is my lips with 1 coat on them using a lipbrush. As you can see the pigmentation is there but not so strong I am rocking a deep red lip. I have always liked the Paul & Joe matte formulas, but this is definitely a new favourite of mine. My lips feel hydrated, look great and there’s that hint of colour too.
The Paul & Joe Beaute My Secret Garden Lipsticks refills are available in 3 shades and cost £14 each.
Last but by no means least is the nail enamel from the My Secret Garden collection in Petunia (038). On first looks I didn’t think it would be that lovely. Its a pale pink clear gloss with sparkles in it. But, then I thought about how I could use it to get the best effect.
If you like a clear polish with a hint of colour, this is for you. The pink is subtle and pretty and gives your nails a natural flush of colour. The sparkles are gold glitter particles which really liven things up. You can easily layer this polish for a heavier glitter effect. What I liked was how it looked over white though. Whether you apply this over a french manicure or another polish, the effect is really pretty. I’m not big on glitter polishes but was quite taken by this as it was more subtle.
The nail enamel lasted really well on my nails and there was a beautiful gloss finish.
The Paul & Joe My Secret Garden Nail Enamels are available in 5 shades and cost £14 each for 10ml of product.
So, that concludes my review of the Paul & Joe My Secret Garden collection. I think this is such a pretty, feminine collection and will suit a variety of people. Perfect for Spring, I look forward to brighter weather so I can show off all these lovely products.
