In brief the new Nails Inc Gel Effect nail polishes are high gloss formulas. They give the appearance of a gel nail polish, like a Shellac manicure or a manicure then cured with a UV top coat. These nail varnishes are not for people who do not like a glossy finish.
The polish I am using today from the Nails Inc Gel Effect range is Bond Street. Described as a Rich Violet shade this varnish is a deep purple, closer to blue than a purple toned polish and deep in depth.
To get the best coverage I have found this is a 2 coat polish. The formula is quite thick, although dries in an average time to most polishes. I would say around 3-5 minutes drying time on a second coat. Although Nails Inc do recommend applying a top coat to give the nail polish better longevity.
I have seen several reviews stating this polish chipped badly. I did notice some chips while wearing it alone after a couple of days. However, Nails Inc do state it should have a top coat. When worn with a top coat you do get a much better lasting polish, this is something I would always recommend (Along with a good base coat to prevent staining and giving an even base to the nails).
Overall, I really like the Nails Inc Gel Effect nail varnishes. They give me a high gloss finish and they do resemble that of a gel manicure. Perfect if you are going out for an evening or somewhere special and want to give your nails that professional finish.
Bond Street is a beautiful colour and one that really looks perfect for Autumn and Winter being that little darker. I will definitely be purchasing St James too as that red will look amazing on my nails when its nearer to party season!
