For those only just finding my blog you may not know but I am a total mascara junkie! When I saw No7 were bring out a new mascara I got rather excited. I love their mascara formulas and haven’t tried one I didn’t like, this one was more exciting as it contains Argan Oil. I had high hopes due to loving a conditioning mascara I own which contains royal jelly which is great for conditioning lashes but not so great for giving you length a volume – I was hoping No7 Lovely Lashes would give me everything and more.
The brush of the Lovely Lashes mascara is nice and small. Its a bristle style round wand brush, much like that of a traditional mascara (Or disposable wand) in shape and is lovely to work with. It seems to pick up just the right amount of product and not once did I find I needed to wipe the brush.
This mascara formula does have a fragrance but its slightly different to that of other mascaras, maybe slightly milder. It hasn’t effected my sensitive eyes nor do I find it overpowering.
My mascara is in Black and the colour is a true black, it also looks slightly ‘glossy’ and I feel this is probably due to the Argan Oil (As my royal gelly one is similar in shine too).
I found with this mascara you could keep adding coat after coat and there wasn’t a clump in sight. In fact its VERY build-able and although I only photographed to 3 coats I’ve found I could apply 4 and it still didn’t clump. Its also really durable, I haven’t had any flaking or smudges from this mascara, not a panda eye in sight!
I was really impressed with this mascara not just because of the length and volume I got, nor how it lasted, but because (Like it says on the tin) it left my lashes soft and glossy. Lovely Lashes managed to do what my other mascara couldn’t, this formula really is lovely. If I had to be really picky the only thing I wasn’t as keen on was how long the coats took to dry on subsequent coats, but when you are layering something you have to expect that.
