As the seasons start to change, the new collections come out and it gets me VERY excited. I would like to share with you some swatches from the new No7 Autumn 2014 collection and trust me when I say they are beautiful!
I think if I was to describe the No7 Autumn colours, the one word that keeps springing to mind is Vampish. Its a beautiful mix of darker nails and deep berry lips. In honesty, my favourite kind of colours for Autumn when you are leaving the Summer brights and pastels behind.
‘Get the perfect pout this autumn with NEW No7 Matte Lip Crayon in Raspberry Red and Raspberry Wine. Try Raspberry Red if you want to brighten up your look, or give the Raspberry Wine shade a go if you fancy something a little sultrier.
No7 Advisor, Geraldine Freer says: “A bold lip is a must-have essential to achieve a sultry autumn look. The matte version of No7 High Shine Lip Crayon works perfectly to achieve a deep colour which will stay put, but also adds a little moisture to your lips too. Start by applying the crayon in the middle of your lips and begin to blend outward. For fuller lips and a richer colour, apply several coats.”’ – source press release
I love lip crayons, purely as their shapes are perfect for getting a good precise application and they fit nicely in your makeup bag. These 2 beautiful shades are prefect for Autumn and Winter in my opinion. Both give your lips a beautiful burst of colour thats pigmented and deep without drying your lips out. I prefer a matte lipstick finish and hate how my lips always suffer for them, but these gorgeous Lip Crayons from No7 are quite moisturising on the lips and last well too! Raspberry Red is perfect for those girls who worry about something too deep on their lips. Its a raspberry shade, but slightly lighter so not as intense. If you are like my and like dark and deep all the time, then Raspberry Wine is for you. I recently popped this beauty on for a shopping trip and got many a compliment. Some may find this a little dark for day time use, but I find on the paler skin girls this looks beautiful any time and I highly recommend it!
‘Contrast your matte lips and with a patent finish on your nails with NEW No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Blue Patent and Black Patent. One stroke gives you a pigment rich colour with a quick drying ultra-gloss finish.
Geraldine suggests: “The secret to a perfect manicure is the preparation before. Start off by buffing your nails to help smooth the nail base and remove any ridges. Next, soak your nails in warm water before pushing back your cuticles – a few drops of jojoba or almond oil in the water will also help soften them. To make the most of the patent finish and prevent your nails from chipping, apply a No7 base coat first, leave it to dry and then apply 2 coats of the nail colour. Finally, use a glossy No7 top coat to leave your nails lovely and shiny.”‘ – source press release
I am so over Matte nail polishes and have always preferred a beautiful high gloss finish. For some black polish may be a little stark in appearance and harsh, but deeper polishes suit all nails types and can look more forgiving on those with very short nails. Black Patent is a beautiful high gloss black, I adored how this looked on my nails and how it lasted too. I always have at least 1 good black gloss polish in my collection come Autumn/Winter and this one will definitely be repurchased once its all gone! If black isn’t your thing, Blue Patent is a deep navy and looks amazing in the bottle, I will definitely get one to swatch for you so watch this space!
‘Next, give the classic smoky eye a modern twist by adding a touch of navy with the NEW No7 Stay Perfect In The Navy Eye Shadow Trio.
Geraldine recommends:“Smokey eyes don’t always have to be black – and this gorgeous trio of colours is great way to update your look, whilst also achieving the ultimate smouldering glance. For best results, use the shimmery shade as a subtle highlighter and sweep it just under your brow-bone– perfect for a little autumn evening glamour. Next, apply the mink shade as a base all over your eyelids, and then blend the navy shade into the contours of your eyes, building up for a more dramatic look. To ensure smooth application and prevent creasing, use the No7 Stay Perfect Smoothing & Brightening Eye Base beforehand.”’ – source press release
I do love the eye shadow formulas of No7 and find their products to last well on me. In The Navy looks a beautiful mix for defining and creating a gorgeous smokey eye. I’m definitely going to be popping into Store to swatch this one!
‘Achieve a fresh rosy glow by adding a pop of colour to your cheeks with NEW No7 Pop & Glow Cream Blush in Watermelon (£9.95). Designed with an innovative twist-up applicator, it’s the perfect size for on the go application.
Geraldine adds: “The No7 Pop & Glow Cream Blush is very versatile. Gently sweep it onto your cheekbones and blend with your fingers for a subtle look, or add more to build up a more intense colour. Try using it on your lips as well for an added hint of autumnal colour.”‘
Last and by no means least is this gorgeous blush stick. I love how buildable these are on the skin which means you can easily intensify the colour to your needs. It also means these are great for most skin tones and being super blendable whether with a brush or your fingers, you can achieve the look you want. I prefer a cream blush as they give a beautiful glow and especially on older/maturer skin they can look more natural. Watermelon is a beautiful shade and I can see this being a staple for me not just through Autumn but also Winter too.
Over all, I’ve not seen a collection in a while where I have loved everything and No7 have created just that with their Autumn 2014 collection. I can’t wait for Autumn now, although who am I kidding… I’m wearing these shades already!
