Todays review features the Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads. A product I picked up on offer recently from Superdrug. A while ago a friend recommended these to me, so I thought I’d finally take the plunge. Here are my thoughts on this quick fix that has made a big difference to my skin.

Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads x60I have been using Nip+Fab makeup for some time now, but never crossed over to their skin care. I do use a lot of skin care products each day but felt something was missing and decided to try these. As a rule I only exfoliate my skin once a week. Being sensitive, having both eczema and psoriasis plus getting older, I don’t like to pull it about too much. But since starting what I believe to be my menopause my hormones have been crazy – as has my skin.

I never had bad acne when younger, but now I break out all the time. What’s worse it often pulls down onto my neck and sometimes back too. Its something I’ve become very conscious of and gets worse around the time of the month. I tried using a Witch Hazel stick on my spots, but it wasn’t doing a lot. So after a friend recommended I try these, I thought I had nothing to lose.

On first inspection the pads reminded me of the old Oxi ones I used in my teens when they first come out. Although thankfully the scent was much nicer. Each pad has a waffle like raised pattern for exfoliating the skin gently. The scent is refreshing, not chemical like I was expecting. The pads have enough of the Glycolic solution on them, so that one pad is enough to use on your face and neck. Generally I use these after washing my face (I use the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser review here). I then apply any serums and moisturisers after. Although you can use these twice daily, I only use the pads in the morning.

I didn’t really notice any results for about 7-10 days. It was then I realised that my blind acne spots were disappearing. Plus an added bonus, no more were coming up. I especially noticed this on my neck where I was originally getting large acne like spots. My neck was clearing up and the spots were getting smaller. Also the redness that the spots was leaving behind before, was improving. As I continued to use these throughout the month and that dreading ‘time of the month’ came around I couldn’t believe my eyes. Before using the pads I would get at least 10 spots around my neck (These would go onto my back/shoulders too) and 5 large ones on my lower face. Yet when my period came I had 2 spots on my face. That was it, 2!

Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads x60I have changed nothing in this time with my diet. Always have drank a lot of water and taken a supplement for a few years now for skin, hair and nails. I was using the same skin care products I always had. The only difference was these pads. So thinking maybe it was a fluke, I continued using them and waited till my next period. I got 2 on my chin, that was it!

I am over the moon by the difference using these Glycolic pads has made to my skin. Other things I want to mention is my skin looks more radiant, especially once I’ve applied all my other skin care. Much more than before. I feel my skin does look younger too. Which can only be a bonus at 42.

I was concerned that these pads might dry out my skin or irritate my psoriasis. On my psoriasis initially they stung a little. This is often the case for any new skincare too though. So I did persevere using them (I don’t recommend doing this, I just know my skin). Now though, I have no issues. My dry patches on my forehead are no more! They look a lot better now. I will say I do not use these near my eyes where my eczema is, so cannot comment on that reaction.

To conclude, the Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads have made such a difference for me. I now use them everyday without fail and will continue to do so. I bought these on offer and actually stocked up, but even when the price changes I would continue to buy them. Even at full price, the confidence they have given me from not having big red/yellow welts around my next is immense! Especially in Summer when you can’t exactly cover your neck with a big scarf! I wish I had taken before pictures to include with this review, but I was that embarrassed by my skin and I honestly didn’t think something so small would make a difference. Big thanks to Maria for recommending them! Nip+Fab, you have a new fan here!

The Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads x 60 are available from Superdrug and Nip+Fab. At present they are on offer in Superdrug for £8.99, but are usually £13.59. Or £12.95 through Nip+Fab.
