I love a good offer and Superdrug have had their Nicole By OPI nail varnishes on buy 1 get 2nd half price, so of course I took advantage. These are my first Nicole by OPI polishes and the one I am sharing today is Love Me Pups part of the Carrie Underwood Collection.

Now I’m a huge fan of OPI polishes, I love their formulas and when I used to go to the nail salon its the only brand I would have on my nails. I own a lot of OPI polishes and love their formulas so knew that Love Me Pups would be a good formula. It was whether the shade would be what I wanted. Being a VERY pale neutral pink it was hard to tell whether I would get a good opaque coverage and still have the formula dry. I didn’t look at the swatches before buying it, so literally bought this blind.
Now the formula is absolutely lovely. I can’t fault it. Its not too thick, not too wet and dries in a reasonable amount of time. I like the bottle shape and the brush is a good size so that you get good coverage with 1 stroke but also (If you have small nails like I do) not too big it will go everywhere.
Love Me Pups is a beautiful pink. It reminds me of a slightly more opaque pink like used in an american pink and white mani. Its more pink than nude and has a beautiful gloss to it. Now I had a little staining on my nails (No idea why as I ALWAYS use a base) but this did not effect the colour at all. In order to acheive a full opaque finish (Which I didn’t quite manage) you would be using 3-4+coats. Although, if you popped 1 coat of a basic white as a base on first (Or even a coloured base coat or ridge filler), you would be able to get it within 2 coats. Still, even 1 coat of this is really pretty and looks very natural on the nails. I applied 3 coats and this is what I have on in the images below.
Overall, I really did like Love Me Pups. Its super pretty, perfect for a Wedding or where you want a classic nail shade and it really will go with anything. It looks good on any skin tone. I found 4 days and I then got some chips, so it lasted well for me too.
I often get asked how you can make your nail polish last so well, 2 words… Rubber Gloves. If you immerse your hands in water a lot this weakens/softens the nails and in turn will effect the polish you are wearing I have found. Pop rubber gloves on when washing up etc and this will help the longevity of your polish.
