Its that time of year again when all the Autumn/Fall shades come out to play, todays post is on the Nails Inc AW 2014 Gel Effect nail trend colours and also some swatches for you too!
Nails Inc has taken inspiration from the catwalk trends and bought together 8 new gorgeous shades of high gloss, gel like nail colours. From Philip Lim’s luxurious aubergine and tomato red at Victoria Beckham to the winter pinks and soft nudes from Celiné and Chloé.
The Nails In Gel Effect formula is described as, ‘Gel polish provides a high shine, super glossy finish without the need for a UV lamp or soak off. Gel effect polish contains the same plumping technology as a salon Gel manicure to provide a flawless, high gloss manicure. You will be able to create an ultra glossy, immaculate finish at home with ease. Formulated with revolutionary plasticiser technology, Gel effect polish creates a gloss like you have never experienced before with standard nail polish. The Gel polish formulation contains a very high level of solid pigments leading to flawless application with no streaking or dragging. The Gel formula glides on effortlessly and the extra wide brush ensures easy application. The coverage from the Gel polishes is exceptional and the plumping effect levels out any imperfections in the nail.‘*source*
I generally find you can get a reasonable 3 days without chips and smudges with these polishes and better longevity if you use a top coat over them. They need a little longer in my opinion in drying time as they are slightly thicker, but layer on nicely. The brush is a good size, even if you have smaller nails.
I have 2 of the gorgeous shades to share swatches with you of…
Its rare for me to love to very different shades, but I can safely say both of these are huge favourites of mine at present.
Hyde Park Palace is a pale grey, it borders slightly on a taupe in some slights and is gorgeous. If you were a fan of Nails Inc Porchester Square (See swatch here), I think you might like this. Although this is more grey in shade, it really is gorgeous. Its that kind of shade that does go with anything and makes a change from the reds and burgundy’s of Autumn/Winter’s usual shades.
Now, if you follow my Instagram you will have seen me popping pictures up of the gorgeous New Oxford St from Nails Inc. To describe this shade is really hard. Its not burgundy, its not purple and its not brown. Its kind of a mix of all of those. This is what I call the perfect 90s shade right now. I wore this colour a lot in my teens back in the 90s, it goes with anything if you want more of a vampy look and also looks great on all shapes of nails. I can’t recommend this shade enough right now, I’m in love!
