FOTD – Simple Smokey Eye (Sleek Storm Palette)

Afternoon all and what a mixed weather day it is today. First we had dark grey clouds then sunshine and now its looking a bit crap out there again – make up your mind British weather! Hope it holds from friends at the JLS, Olly Murrs concert tonight as it’ll be horrible for them otherwise!

Mark and I went shopping today for a new tv. Now that we actually need a new tv but we thought we’d have a look about and think we’ve found the one we want for when the living room is redecorated. I also took a trip too Superdrug but came out empty handed, I don’t know what’s wrong with me today, I only wanted to get one thing – the Sleek Oh So Special palette but still no joy there as they didn’t have it. You’d think I’d be asking for the world with this one, but can’t get it anywhere (Less I order online and don’t have a good track record with eyeshadows not arriving damaged!!).

I thought I’d post my makeup today as it’s a combination I hadn’t used before from the Sleek Storm palette and I really liked it. Still trying to find a good wearable smokey eye day combination that brings out my blue eyes – anyone got any recommendations?

Excuse my awful hair, I did it afterwards but its just tied back here for makeup purposes. The grey is actually a lot darker than what its showing in the photos.

Can you see the mark on my forehead on the right near my hair line? That’s where I burnt myself with the straighteners yesterday! I didn’t realised it noticed so much!

I liked this look but think it still makes me eyes look a lot more grey than they actually are.

Here’s the colours I used in the sleek storm palette.

1. All over the lid and on the crease.

2. blended onto the crease and outwards towards the brow softly.

3. I used this on my out edge of my eye, into the crease and blended well. This was also used on my lower lash line. (I was really surprised as I always over look this colour but love it’s metallic greyness)

Here’s what I was wearing today;

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 55 Dark Beige (I don’t think this foundation is agreeing with me as I’m breaking out!)

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in 02 Light

Topshop Blush in Flush

Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder

Sleek Contour Kit in Light

Sleek Storm Palette

Bourjois Volume Fast & Perfect Revolving Mascara in Black

Vasaline Lip Therapy with Cocoa Butter (love this so much at present!)

I’ve had this look on  7 hours and have to say my eyeshadow has budged a bit! You don’t need to spend a fortune for lasting shadow! I’ve no primer on at all. What’d you think?

Lots of Love,

Mel xxxx
