Autumn is coming and I’m breaking out Candy Cane to bring it on sooner! When we lose Summer and move into Fall for me its all about the makeup change. A beautiful red lip stick is a must, so todays review is my thoughts on this bad boy from ModelsOwn in their Matte Liquid Lipstick range.
Here is a little information about the ModelsOwn Liquid Lipstick in Candy Cane…
Get lippy with this smooth matte lip cream. With a fresh minty scent, this is all you need for the perfect lip look.
I picked up Candy Cane about a month or so ago. It was while ModelsOwn had their 50% off the site, so the cost of this lipstick was minimal. I love a good red at any time of the year, but Autumn/Winter is the time I break them out the most. Candy Cane looked like it would meet all my needs, so it was rude not to purchase it.
ModelsOwn liquid lipsticks aren’t a bad formula either. I own 3 of them now and find they last fairly well on the lips. If you are a smoker/vaper, drink a lot throughout the day or lick your lips frequently you’ll know that matte liquid lipsticks do fade badly on the inner lip. This formula is no exception and being a red is very unforgiving. However, you can touch up I’ve found with this liquid lipstick without having to take it all off and start again. I get a few hours of wear before I need to touch my lipstick up again, so I don’t feel this is terrible.
I do find the liquid lipsticks dry my lips out a fair bit. Even this formula if I wear it for a few days straight (Of course I mean taking it off each day in the evening) leaves my lips slightly dry and cracked. The only way I’ve found to combat this is with rubbing some coconut oil onto my lips at night before bed and sleeping with it on. That way my lips are hydrated in the morning.
I know many don’t like scented lipsticks, but this fresh minty scent isn’t bad. Its not overpowering on the lips, plus it doesn’t taste too bad either. I admit I prefer the mint fragrance to some of those synthetic sweet smelling ones. The mint is pleasant and only really noticeable for the first few minutes.
Lastly and to conclude we have the colour, Candy Cane red. Reminiscent of those red and white striped candy canes you see at Christmas. This shade of lipstick is gorgeous. It sits on the red, with a tiny hint of pink scale. Candy Cane is a very wearable red for all skin tones and will look beautiful on any lips!
