Could the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2 In 1 Foundation be a good dupe for a high end product twice the price? I’ve been testing the Milani foundation out for a week now and it really reminds me of one of my high end favourites!
Here is a little information on the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2 In 1 Foundation…
Combat under eye circles, redness and other skin imperfections with this full coverage, water-resistant foundation plus concealer in one. A no mess, no drip pump dispenses just the right amount of fluid needed to achieve a flawless look and works around the clock to keep skin looking naturally perfect!
We may be in full Summer swing but I’m kind of sick of the ‘glowing look’ foundations I have. I’ve been looking for something that was a little higher coverage without making my skin look flat and matte. Putting my detective cap on while placing an order on Just My Look I came across the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2 in 1 foundation. Buying a foundation online which you can’t swatch is always a little crazy. I’ve had good results picking my correct shade in the past. This time I chose 03 Light Beige and its a perfect match.
Conceal + Perfect 2 in 1 from Milani does have some high claims in my opinion. Claiming to be full coverage, matte, water resistant and also (The biggest claim I feel)taking away the need to conceal as well. I was interested to see how it would fair. It also reminded me instantly of Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting Foundation too and half the price.
Milani’s Conceal + Perfect has a pump action bottle which I don’t use and unscrew instead. With a thick consistency a little goes a long way on application. Using a brush I apply Conceal + Perfect 2 in 1 in a thin layer. I finish by adding a little extra to conceal any areas that need some extra coverage.
The result is a good medium demi matte coverage which is buildable without being cakey. I feel those with heavy discolouration and acne/scarring would benefit from this too. For those like myself who do have combination dry skin, Conceal + Perfect didn’t stick to my dry patches too obviously. This is something I struggle with matte finish products.
While testing out the foundation I initially wore it on the hottest day of the year in 32 degree heat. So it was an extremely hard test and without primer too. Milani’s foundation held up well for 3 hours! I have since tried it in 27 degree heat with a primer – 4-5 hours and then today 19 degrees 5+ hours before needing to powder. This is amazing for a drugstore/pharmacy foundation at a reasonable £12.95.
I know many of you are wondering how Milani’s Conceal + Perfect holds up as a dupe for Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting? In comparison here are my thoughts;
Both foundations are thick and heavy, but Milani’s felt more breathable on my skin.
Both foundations give VERY good coverage. Clinique’s has the edge being slightly higher but that also clings to my dry patches and is more obvious that Milani’s.
The finish of both foundations is very similar. They are both matte finishes but not flat, so I would describe them as more of a demi matte.
Lasting power is good with both foundations but Clinique’s lasts a couple of hours longer – both have to be set with powder though to get 6-8+ hours wear.
Milani’s Conceal + Perfect is available in a lot of shades from Just My Look and Beauty Bay. There is a breakdown of undertones and shades for you to work out what would be ideal for you. I do find most foundations from overseas brands tend to be darker, so if you are ultra pale I’m not sure whether the lightest shade will be great – bare that in mind.
Over all though, I cannot fault this offering from Milani. I love how it looks on my skin. I wouldn’t say its full coverage (Less you really pile it on, I like my skin to breathe) but I do feel it gives very good coverage and for the price is pretty amazing. Plus in my opinion it is a decent dupe for Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting.
