I have two products today I would like to share my thoughts with you on, the Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Foundation and Powder. Here are my thoughts on these 2 products and whether they are now my top drugstore/pharmacy foundation and powder….
Here is some information about the Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Foundation…
It’s the do-it-all through-it-all 24-hour makeup. Meet the foundation that stays flawless. Beyond any stretch of the imagination. Our Flex technology stretches and flexes with your skin. Stays looking flawless and feels light all day.
Ready, set, flawless! Maybelline New York face products have your perfect look covered. Our easy-to-blend foundations, powerful concealers and soft powders set the stage for beauty.
When it comes to there being so many different foundations on the market, its hard to find one that does exactly what you want it too at a reasonable price. I tend to stick to brands I know and Maybelline is one of my top 5 favourites. The new Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Foundation has some bold claims, if it did everything it said, I knew I would love it.
Firstly, its a medium coverage foundation which is EXTREMELY buildable. If you mix it with a little moisturiser you can also make it a light to medium coverage. In the Autumn/Fall I like to use a heavier coverage as my skin can become quite grey and tired looking, the Superstur 24 Hour is perfect for that.
The consistency of the foundation is really nice to work with. It glides on the skin with whatever tools you use to apply it (Including fingers) and is easily blended into the skin. I didn’t find it felt too heavy on the skin. In fact, my skin felt breathable but with extremely good coverage.
The finish of Superstay 24 Hour is semi matte and looks really good. The colour I have been using is Sand 030 which suits my medium skin tones very well and looks natural. Its a warm toned foundation, but not orange, more of a pink tone – it leaves me skin looking extremely healthy looking.
As for lasting power, this foundation claims to last 24 hours with a flawless finish. Now, I personally don’t wear my makeup for 24 hours, but I have worn in for 14 hours and can say it lasted well on my skin and only needed minor touch ups with powder to remove shine (T-zone area).
Overall, I have absolutely loved this foundation! So much so, I will be purchasing more shortly as its on offer at Superdrug on their 3 for 2 on makeup. This has become my favourite (And that is quite a claim) drugstore foundation and I think it will be hard to beat!
The Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Foundation is available in 8 shades and costs £8.99 for 30ml of product and is available for Boots, Superdrug other pharmacies and some supermarkets.
Here is some information about the Maybelline SuperStay 24Hour Powder…
Does your powder stay flawless all day?
Meet our first waterproof powder.
Withstands heat, humidity, sweat, touch, life.
Our exclusive mircroflex formula contains silicon coated pigments that repel water oil and sweat all day.
Now, I admit like many beauty bloggers I already had a favourite powder I used for setting my makeup and never thought I would find another one that compared to it. I use powder daily to set my makeup, I have tried using it alone but prefer to apply it to my t-zone areas to make my flawless finish last longer.
What I really liked about SuperStay 24Hour powder from Maybelline was how my face didn’t feel cakey after application. I can be a little heavy handed and on application of other products it would leave my skin looking a little too matte or slightly cakey. What surprised me about this powder was that my skin looked flawless and matte with only using a thin layer.
Another surprise was just how long this powder lasted. I tend to do my makeup at 7am most morning. I then fly about getting the children ready for school, get them there and then do my housework at home. Often after this point my skin will be looking a little shiny for running around (And dare I say) sweating a little. However, with SuperStay 24Hour it didn’t. In fact, my makeup looked just as it did when I applied it. It really did last throughout the day and I only found areas like my nose (Which I am frequently blowing at present as I have a terrible cold) needed a touch up.
This powder has become my favourite powder as it works so well along side the SuperStay foundation. I use the 2 in conjunction with eachother and achieve a flawless base that lasts me all day and leaves me feeling confident my makeup will remain looking as good as when I first applied it with minimum touch ups.
I will definitely continue to use this powder and won’t be repurchasing my old brand now as this is my new favourite!
The Maybelline SuperStay 24Hour Powder is available in 4 shades and costs £6.99. It is available in Superdrug, Boots and some other pharmacies and supermarkets.
