I wanted to film this review and demo of the Lee Stafford My Long Tong XXL (Model LSHT02) quickly as I wasn’t sure if this was being discontinued. I got mine at a bargain price and think its a great 1 inch (25 mm) curling tong!
I filmed this review so you can see me using the Lee Stafford My Long Tong XXL and also tell you about the pros and cons (Although like I said, I don’t like to call them cons as there isn’t really anything bad at all about this heat styling tool).

Over all I think this is a fantastic curling tong and I’m so pleased I picked it up. This is my first Lee Stafford heat styling tool and I think it was a great purchase. I do think its a shame the price has now gone back up in Asda as its not as much of a bargain as it was for me, however hopefully some of you out there will be able to grab it at a great price still (I’ve popped the best prices down below that I could find it for online). The extra long barrel does make it a little tricky to use if you are trying to curl right to the roots, but not impossible. Its just getting used to the weight of the curling wand as its a little top heavy, but not so that it will make your arm ache.
It also heats up really fast. I’ve not actually timed it, but it heats up in the time it takes me to spray my hair with heat protectant and brush it through, I’d say just under a minute. Being 200 degrees in temperature it means its a little hotter than I usually use on my hair (I have all my heat tools set to 180 degrees), but its not so hot that its as damaging as some (Which can be 230 degrees!). The on and off switch means it is unlikely to get flicked off while you are using it. There isn’t a safety cut off that I can find information about online, so would say you must remember to turn it off!
I did mention in the video that the power cable wasn’t very long, I have found more technical information on the Asda website where I purchased mine and it states the lead if 1.8m long. There is more technical information on the Asda website if you want to check it there.
I also have noticed that the price on Asda now has gone back to £20, which is annoying as I only paid £7.49 for mine a week ago! However, Superdrug are still stocking theirs at £14.99 (You may have to look in store as its out of stock online) and its still available at TK Maxx for £16.99 online. Other retailers do sell it online, but its almost double that.
