I decided to review the Jerome Russell Bblonde Platinum Blonde Colour Toner for those who didn’t want to use a permanent product on their hair for toning after bleaching to reach platinum. Here is my review which I filmed talking about the product…
Here is some information the Jerome Russell Bblonde Platinum Blonde Colour Toner…
For use on pre-lightened and naturally blonde hair
Non permanent. No ammonia or peroxide.
Refresh and improve the shade and condition of your blonde hair in one wash! Easy to use and ideal for refreshing your colour, as it neutralises yellow and brassy tones, restoring natural, subtle blonde tones.
Platinum blonde adds subtle cool blonde shades that last up to 8 washes.
As you can see from the video, the toner was really easy to apply and shampooed in almost like a purple shampoo (After washing hair with a clarifying shampoo first and towel drying), you then apply a shower cap, apply heat (I did this with a hair dryer) for 5 minutes and let it take on the hair (Up to 30 minutes). Remember to check it frequently and then rinse out till water runs clear afterwards.
I think you can see the results of the product watching the video on my hair. Its a true likeness in shade to how it looks in real life and I feel the images don’t really show the lightness (The light inside was pretty dull today). My hair is pretty much an ULTRA light whitish blonde (Although it is platinum I would like to say its not WHITE like snow – My hair is just like Gwen’s in this photo).
Results wise I would say the product worked well, my hair is definitely brass free . As I said in the video I don’t know how long the results will last on my hair. With a product that only lasts up to 8 washes, you can’t expect long term. This is something you can probably layer in honesty without damage. I used half of the bottle doing my hair. You could use this product straight after bleaching your hair in my opinion, but obviously check the box to make sure that’s viable. If it works similar to the Colour Fresh toner I mentioned from Wella I know that can be used straight after bleaching safely.
My only gripe was that the instructions were on the side of the box. I felt this was a little… Well, cheap in honesty. You can pay £5 for a permanent or semi permanent hair dye and still get an instruction booklet, but here they are just on the side of the box. If people don’t like for it there, they would think the same as me that there wasn’t instructions. Maybe they are trying to help the environment and be more eco-friendly? I’m unsure.
So, there you have it, my review of the Jerome Russell Bblonde Platinum Blonde Colour Toner. I thought it was good. I don’t know if it would replace my other toners as I do prefer something with more permanent results. But if my hair was damaged and I felt it couldn’t take a permanent toner, I would consider using this product.
You can purchase Jerome Russell Bblonde Platinum Blonde Colour Toner from Boots, Superdrug, some supermarkets and other online retailers. It costs £4.99 and at present is available as part of Boots 3 for 2.
