I’m super excited to share my thoughts with you today on the Deluxe Halo from Halo Hair Extensions. The super thick version which will be a great solution for those with thicker hair or shorter hair.
Of all the extension systems I’ve tried, the most questions I get asked is about the Halo from Halo Hair Extensions. Being unique in that it has no clips what so ever and is attached only via a wire, it is also one of the most comfortable systems in my opinion and great when you want something quick and may struggle with clip ins.
All Halo Hair Extensions are made with 100% Indian Remy Human Hair. The Halo is unlike anything you’ve ever played with before! There are no clips, no glue, no tape – it’s something that takes less than a minute to apply!
The halo is 100% remy human hair that is approximately 10″ wide and has been quadruple wefted for a perfect added volume!
The 16″ Halo Deluxe Set provides: (Subject to minor variation)
Your Halo comes packaged in a black box, inside your package though you will also find Shampoo, Conditioner, a Sectioning Comb and a Sectioning Clip. These are really handy for applying your halo, styling it and also keeping it in tip top condition when you need to give it a wash (I wash mine probably ever 4-6 weeks in honesty as I do not apply a lot of styling products to it, only heat protectant).
Before wearing your Halo you will need to adjust it. Full instructions come with your Halo on how to pop it in and adjust it, but if you prefer a more visual method, I have videos that may be helpful to you (How to Adjust Your Halo and How To Put In Your Halo). At first you may find putting in your Halo a little strange, especially if you are used to Clip in hair extensions, however I generally take around 20-30 seconds to put mine in, so with practice definitely comes speed and this is why it is one of the fastest temporary extension systems in my opinion.
The ends of the hair weft are tapered but also fairly thick too. They do not look straggly and look natural when worn. If you have shorter hair I would recommend getting your own ends tapered as it makes for easier blending, blunt cut hair can be harder to blend less you intend to always wear your hair curly/wavy.
I’d also like to take note of the weight of the Deluxe Halo. Many hair extensions companies average sets of clip ins are around the 140g mark of hair, to have a quadruple weft that has 140g of hair is a lot of hair. So the weft is super thick. Although super thick I would like to also add when wearing it doesn’t feel any heavier really that the standard Halo and is by no means uncomfortable.
The extra thickness of this weft definitely is an improvement and will suit more people who want super volume if there hair is already long or have thicker hair and struggle blending standard extensions. I found the thicker weft super comfortable and blended better with my hair, it also gave me amazing volume too. I would like to add that I have to tone my Halo with silver shampoo before wearing it as my hair is platinum, this meant diluting silver shampoo with water and quickly washing the Halo with it and then rinsing. I recommend air drying as this causes less damage than heat styling your extensions and always use heat protectant, also a little argon oil on the ends doesn’t hurt either.
I deliberately styled my hair straight for the above images as I personally think its harder to disguise hair extensions when hair is straight than curly (Especially if your hair is shorter). As you can see from the images above, they blend perfectly. As the halo comes slightly over the tops of your ears, you have length at the sides as well as the back and there is no need to add additional clip ins etc.
The Halo is very secure, looks great and is super fast. It will remain my favourite temporary hair extension system and is one I will always recommend. It is more of an investment, but the transformation as you can see from the before and after is quite significant, the Deluxe Halo definitely has my vote!
