When I first decided to do this hair envy post, I struggled to think of what colour to call it. See for me, I think of strawberry, ginger, red or even auburn hair colours as all being warm. Whether its more golden, orange or red in tone, they are all warm shades. So, this post is dedicated to those with warmer hair. Whether you call your hair a strawberry blonde, titian, ginger or a auburn… This ones for you.

Admit it, when you were a child you probably took the mick out of a ginger haired person at least once in your life? No? Really? Hmm, are you sure? I remember a girl at my school when I was younger, I’m not saying her name, but she had the most amazing head of red hair. If you even breathed the word ‘ginger’ she would have a melt down telling you it was ‘titian’. We would wind her up more about the fact she hated you insinuating her hair was ginger than the actual colour of it – I know children can be cruel. Yet now, many of us would pay to have her amazing red locks!

Another friend of mine has the most amazing strawberry blonde hair with also pale skin and freckles – an even better combination in my opinion, yet she hates it and high lights it (Yes hun, you know I’m talking about you!!). To actually get that perfect balance of blonde, gold and orange/red is harder than you think. Still, when it comes to hair colour, we always want what we can’t have (Or struggle to achieve).

Probably the most famous red haired lady... Maryilyn Monroe

Probably the most famous red haired lady… Marilyn Monroe

People often think that ginger isn’t attractive, are you telling me Marilyn Monroe wasn’t beautiful? The woman screamed sex appeal and if I’m honest, I feel is more beautiful as a red head than as a blonde – but alas that’s only an opinion.

I know you are laughing now, but yes Jessica Rabbit was one hot lady! And what colour was her hair… come on speak up, yep she was a red head! Show me a guy back then who didn’t think she was hot – exactly…

See, I think I’ve presented my case really well. You cannot deny that there is some truly beautiful people out there with warmer hair. Which is why I am debating doing it for Winter this year. Although this time, I’m not talking about an in the face red (Posts here for previous red hair escapades), no I’m talking more of what I would call a Dark Strawberry Blonde/Auburn. Think maybe…. Emma Stone but a little lighter.

You see, at present my hair envy goes to the beautiful Holland Roden from Teen Wolf (3 seasons in 4 days – yes I am that good!). See whatever one person describes their hair as, another calls it something else. Either way, Holland has the most amazing hair colour (And stylist!) and she definitely gets my hair envy.

So, at present I am working on how I am going to achieve Holland’s colour on my own hair and also matching extensions to it. As with most of my hair journeys of course I will document it for you and tell you how I did it.

Whatever your shade of warm hair though, whether GINGER, RED, STRAWBERRY, TITIAN or AUBURN…. NATURAL or FAKE…. EMBRACE IT! Wear it with pride and work that colour, for there are just as many ugly blondes or brunettes out there as there are beautiful ones too. So, the next time someone dismisses you for being ginger, channel your inner Jessica Rabbit and work it 😉

Lots of Love,

Mel xxxx
