Glossybox Really Ree Rose Gold Edition December 2015

It’s been so long since I did a subscription box and when I saw that Glossybox had done a collaboration with the gorgeous Really Ree for December, I felt it had to be purchased. So, here are my thoughts on the Glossybox Really Ree Rose Gold Edition December 2015 and whether its all its cracked up to be.

Glossybox Really Ree Rose Gold Edition December 2015

For those who have lived under a rock (It does happen), Glossybox is a subscription service beauty box. I will say now I have NEVER been sent one of these to review and have always purchased mine. I guess that makes my review a little more on the ‘consumer’ level, as MANY beauty bloggers do get sent these boxes free of charge. Still, I do find Glossybox (And all the others, I’ve tried a few now) rather hit and miss. I think the exception to the rule with this one is LIB boxes (See my post here) as you do know what you are getting when you order.

From what I can tell about the Glossybox Really Ree Rose Gold Edition December 2015 there are 3 stand alone products in this box that everyone is getting, then some variations. There is also an additional product (6 where as usually there is only 5 in the Glossybox) too. This review is just based on what I got and what I thought of it. Here is what I got in mine…

être belle Golden Skin Caviar Eye roll on – I’ve only used this twice but can say its really cooling on the under eye and leaves me eye area feeling hydrated. Being very cooling means it helps with puffiness too. I believe this is a full sized product when I search online, but it is not stated as one in the leaflet.

So Susan Statement Skin Highlighter Crayon – As highlighters go this is really beautiful. I would liken it slightly to MAC Creme colour base in Hush (Its a pale champagne although Hush is more pinkish), but this one is more subtle. Still you can definitely build it up. Blended out this has a lovely ‘light’ to it. I can see this being a huge favourite for me as I do love a cream highlighter! This is a full sized product worth £15.00

Collection Long Lasting Nail Effect in Cosmic Stars – I think with glitter polishes you either love them or loathe them. I personally have never been a huge fan and hate the hassle of getting them off my nails (So I’ve not swatched this one sorry). Cosmic Stars has a purple and copper glitter to it and could be layed for intensity although I would probably wear this over something. Not my cup of tea but am sure someone will love this. Another full sizes product.

Hylamide Pore Delete – Of all the products in this box and the variations sent out, this was the one product I really wanted!! I’ve not tried this yet. Its a good sized sample (10ml, full size is 30ml) and the pictures look amazing. I’ve never found anything that does work on my pores, so hoping the proofs in the pudding with this one!!

essence Liquid Lipstick in Show Off – I’m not the biggest fan of liquid lipsticks. Too many of them feel like lip gloss on me and I can’t stand that feeling. The colour isn’t bad though but this is another product which I probably won’t use just because its not for me. Show Off is fairly pretty though although I am surprised they didn’t select a more red shade for Christmas. This is a full sized product and great if you do love it as very budget friendly.

Starskin Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Mask – Super excited to try this mask over the party season. I’ve seen so many rave reviews on them but have a lot of face masks so wouldn’t splash out on it too try. This is the 6th bonus product and I think its a pretty good bonus in honesty. I won’t be using this yet, but when I do I’ll make sure to pop a review up and let you know my thoughts!

Over all, this isn’t a bad Glossybox. I did think the nail polish/lipstick were a bit of a let down. In honesty I guess its a cost thing and how the box works out etc, but Rimmel or even MUA/Freedom or something like that would have been better and still within that budget. Compared to last years Glossybox for December (Post here), its a lot better – I felt that one was a bit of a let down considering its a Christmas box. The products this time are things I’m more likely to use and the value of the box feels better too. I love the packaging which I think everyone will love this time (Yes I do use my boxes for storage after and keep them). Although I still won’t keep Glossybox (Or the other subscription boxes) as a monthly thing and only tend to get them when I fancy a surprise, this one isn’t too bad and I’m pleased with what I got.

The Glossybox subscription starts at £10 per month (Plus P&P, although you can purchase 3, 6 or 12 months in one go and it does bring down the price of the boxes).

Lots of Love,
