I’ve not subscribed to a beauty box in ages, but when I saw the contents of the The Glamour Beauty Edit Box from Latest In Beauty, I just had to snap it up! So, here are my thoughts on the products in the Glamour Beauty Edit (Even though you will know what you are getting if you order it!) and whether its good value for money.
What really appealed to me about this box was I knew what I was getting. I cancelled so many subscriptions because I ended up getting crap and it was a waste of money. So although the element of surprise is gone, you also know whether its something you want or not instantly – the disappointment factor is already taken care of.
Firstly I loved the packaging! I use my beauty boxes for storage and this one is lovely and crisp in white with the pretty logo. Its about the same size as most normal beauty boxes if you are wondering and has a lid.
Inside you have the lovely selection of products. Now what really drew me to this box was the the addition of one of the new Illamasqua Glamore Nude lipsticks (To see the post with full swatches of the Lipstick – click here)! Although you don’t know what shade they will pop it, the cost of that lipstick alone would take care of the price of the box (Plus change too – the lipstick is £18.95!). However, let me show you what you get and what the products are like. This is more of a first impressions as I will probably review some of these separately.
Velvotan – the Original Tanning Mitt: I’ve had one of these before and it was a really good tanning mitt. Nice size and did the job. I admit I do prefer the velour finish ones a bit more but will still use this one as I know it worked well before.
£1.99 (Full size product)
Toni & Guy – Glamour Volume Plumping Whip: It smells GOOD! Ok I know its not all about the scent but I wanted to mention it. I’ve heard good things about the product, not tried it before so should be interesting. It has a smooth, silky feel to the cream and I’ve a feeling this won’t just be good for volume but also separating curls for a more natural beachy look.
£7.19 (Full size product)
Crabtree & Evelyn – Nail Polish in Apple: It looks a beautiful colour red. More Autumn/Winter maybe but if you like a red nail in Summer then this could be for you. I’ve not tried this one yet but will do a swatch post soon for you, it looks like there might be a slight metallic shimmer to the polish, so it will be interesting to see how that transfers when on the nails. Post will comes shortly I promise!
£6.00 (Full size product)
Rimmel – Sun Shimmer Instant Tan BB 9-in-1 Skin Perfector: This is supplied in ‘Medium Matte’ shade and is quite dark in my opinion. I have a VERY good tan at present and it made me look more tanned, so this might not be great for the paler skinned girls out there. It smells sweet and a bit synthetic, but felt good on my hand when I swatched it for you. I’ll be interested to see how this one does when I review it for long wearing and also all the 9 things its supposed to do.
£6.99 (Full size product)
Hawaiian Tropic – Satin Protection Ultra Radiance SPF 30: If you have ever used Hawaiian Tropics products before you will know they smell amazing! I prefer them over Banana Boat who also smell great but don’t feel as nice on the skin. This is lovely and moisturising but also has an illuminating sheen to it, not sparkly but brighter. This is definitely going to be something I can see me repurchasing (If only for the fragrance!).
£5.49 (Full size product)
Magnifibres Brush-On False Lashes: I liked the packaging of this a lot. Being pink and black its quite eye catching. I have tried quite a few lash fibre products now (Usually as part of sets), so will be interesting to see what this is like. It says it works with ANY mascara and will lengthen up to 5mm which is a lot really! I will review this one as I know I’ll get questions, so watch out for the review soon! www.magnifibres.com
£15.80 (Full size product)
Bourjois Cream Blush in 02 Healthy Glow: I have previous reviewed the Bourjois Cream blushers. There are 4 shades so you could get any of them. Shade 02 is actually a gorgeous coral pink shade, will suit most skin tones and if it lasts as well as the other colours (Which I’m sure it will) will be a great addition to my cream blush collection. To see my previous review of the Cream Blush rom Bourjois click here.
£7.99 (Full size product)
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil: I’m not sure about this product. It doesn’t really have a fragrance unless you pop it on the skin. I think its something I’m going to have to use to see what I think. I’ll be interested to see how it is with sensitive skin and whether it breaks me out.
£4.50 (Mini Size Product)
Illamasqua Glamore Nude Lipstick in Starkers: I have already shared my thoughts on my Illamasqua spotlight post (You can see here including full swatches) and ADORED this colour! I know colours vary with this one and I could not be more happy than with the one I was sent in this box! It was one of the ones I already had my eye on, so won’t need to purchase it. They have a gorgeous fragrance to them, look beautiful on the lip and are so hydrating! Big love for this and you’ll be getting it before everyone else as it doesn’t come out on Illamasqua till 10th July and everywhere else 31st July!
£18.95 (Full size product).
So, thats The Glamour Beauty Edit box and boy its packed. I was really happy with everything I got and think seeing as the box costs £16.95 you can’t really go wrong with getting one! The products are all good sizes too. LatestInBeauty.com made the box value to over £86 but I have it at £74.90 – either way its a huge saving! Yes, it has my seal of approval, now look out for the reviews of the products coming soon!
