I’ve always wanted to try Wet N Wild and saw they had a few bits on Amazon! Here is my first impressions on the Wet N Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow Palette in Greed. There will be a second video shortly featuring the Wet N Wild Megalength Mascara too!
Here is some information on the Wet N Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow Palette in Greed…
As I mentioned a lot in my first impressions on the Wet N Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow Palette, I thought I would do this review with some key points and summarise it for you…
The matte shades have VERY good colour pay off. They are creamy and apply to the lids nicely. You can really build them up. I love the top left cream/beige shade for all over the lid and as a high light. It brightens your lid nicely. The peach/brown is good for a transition but would only really suit light to medium skin tones, anything darker and it won’t show. The black is SUPER PIGMENTED! Be careful with it, its great as liner and works really well for a smokey/grungy eye look
The shimmer shades are a little disappointing. The blue/silver is really pretty and mixed with the black can give a lovely smokey blue effect. On its own its a little wishy washy although would work well as an all over the lid colour if you like silvery blues. The champagne colour which looks beautiful in the pan doesn’t show at all! Not even as an inner corner highlight which is what I was hoping for. The shimmer black again like the matte is SUPER PIGMENTED, so be careful. It is lovely on the eye as liner and looks great if applied lightly in the outer ‘v’.
I didn’t get any creasing even without a primer for a good 4 hours. If you do have oily lids I would recommend using one though just so you get the long wear from them
The casing is cheap and nasty. But it is an inexpensive palette, so to be expected. It doesn’t feel too secure, so would pop a rubber band on it if I was taking this somewhere.
If I were to liken the shadows to a different brand I would say the mattes reminded me of the Sleek ultra mattes palette in texture. The shimmery shades aren’t my cup of tea at all.
Overall, I am glad I purchased this palette. I like the colours and can see me getting plenty of use from it. I don’t really use shimmery shadows a lot so the fact that one of them is totally useless doesn’t bother me. However, if you want a palette which does contain a nice shimmery highlight, don’t buy this one for that. The other colours though are lovely and I will definitely be purchasing more Wet N Wild products to review as this palette has left me with a good impression on the brand.
Now when I purchased the Wet N Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow Palette in Greed it was £4.19. It has now rose to £7.89. Although I like it I don’t know if I would pay that for it. At under £5 its a pretty good collection of shadows with good pigmentations (Especially across the matte shades), which lasted well on my eyes. I do own a lot of neutral palettes, however if I wanted something small and slim for my handbag, then this is great and I guess I would pay the £7 odd for it. I guess it really does depend on your budget.
