When I use a black pencil liner (Which in honesty is daily), I like it to be black. Even gel liners that are black have that tendency to be grey toned and not black. I was really pleased that the Goddess Smokey Eye Pencil was a true black. Even when I buffed it out I felt the colour pay off was really good.

The pencil liner is quiet soft so it makes it very easy to work with. You don’t really need to be very firm to get the pencil to work and unlike some of my other liners I found I didn’t need to warm it up either. In fact, it worked much like my gel liners do in consistency and was also applicable  with a brush if you wanted a really precise line. I had never thought about storing them in a fridge before application to make them firmer and am glad I saw that tip on their video I have included above. This meant when you did sharpen them the point was super precise.

I use my liner both on my lash line and my water line and find often I can’t use the same product for both as they do not last on my water line. However, I found this lasted quiet well being waterproof. Just by smudging it out slightly on the lower lash line helped with any ‘liner bleed’ and kept it looking fresh with minimal touch ups.

I was also really impressed that my eyes were not sensitive to this product, too often you find a good pencil liner and then find its not compatible with your eyes. Being paraben free and made with natural ingredients I feel this really helps.

As this was my first product I have ever tried from Eye Of Horus I really wasn’t sure what to expect from their products. I looked through their website and everything looked good, but looking good and actually working well can mean two different things. I was really impressed though. I even felt the prices of their products was quiet reasonable and if the colour pay off from the Goddess Smokey Eye Pencil is anything to go by, I am sure their others products will work as well too.

I have enjoyed reviewing the Eye Of Horus Goddess Smokey Eye Pencil as its meant I have found a good true black pencil liner that lasts well on my lash line and eyes and looks good too.

The Eye Of Horus Goddess Smokey Eye Pencil costs £13.00 and is available directly from Eye Of Horus.
