As I type this I am sitting here with 2 different colours on my hands; Tour De France on my left and To Buy or Not To Buy on my right – maybe I should put it to the vote? Although I have a feeling that Tour De France may win this battle!
Here is the Essie Spring 2012 Collection Mini’s I was telling you about the other day that I received for Mother’s Day. I really love the little mini polishes as they are great value for money and last pretty well too! You will know I tried Navigate her before Mother’s Day and got many a compliment on the gorgeous pistachio colour.
The Colours in the set are;
- Essie Navigate Her Nail Polish – 5ml
A gorgeous sage green with lime undertones.
- Essie Olé Caliente Nail Polish – 5ml
A spicy red-hot scarlet.
- Essie Tour De Finance Nail Polish – 5ml
A punchy fuchsia hue.
- Essie To Buy Or Not To Buy Nail Polish – 5ml
A lilac shimmer.
But you really aren’t fussed with all that, you just want to see the swatches don’t you…
Ole Caliente is a rich red with an orange undertone. Not to be confused with a terracotta shade. The varnish is also a cream, so no sparkles or shimmer in this baby. The swatch above is quite accurate to its colour. I’ll be honest and say I was a little disappointed with this colour because I would have liked more of a pink based red than an orange one.
To Buy Or Not To Buy is a shimmery glittery lilac colour. It was slightly hard to photo to be honest as it kept coming out as grey based when it is really a true lilac. The shimmer in it is minimal and very pretty. This is the sort of colour I would do nail art over as its a little bland on its own. The middle swatch is probably the most accurate to the actual colour.
Navigate her is the most gorgeous cream based pistachio shade I’ve ever worn. This is my favourite polish out of the 4 which is really surprising when I’m not usually a green polish type of girl. No shimmer or glittery bits in sight this polish works with or without nail art and is just gorgeous and perfect for Spring!
Tour De France was a nightmare to get a decent shot of. From the 3 swatches above each one looks different. The middle one is the most accurate but was taken with a flash which when taken shots of polish is something I rarely do! The colour is a rich fuchsia pink metallic colour, there is definitely a pearl sheen to it but not a glittery sparkle. This colour is of the bright variety and has mixed votes with the girls in the household. I like it, but I think its more of a Summer colour.
Overall I liked the Spring Collection from Essie and can’t wait to buy some more of their collections as I feel they are almost always overlooked with the likes of OPI. This set of minis was bought from Beauty Bay and costs £10.75 so really good value I thought!
Whats your views on the Spring Collection from Essie?
Lots of Love,
