As Spring is here its time to get my feet ready for flip flops! The Elle Macpherson Aromatherapy Foot Spa is the first of product I am reviewing in my ‘Awaken Your Feet For Spring’ feature.
Now as many of you may or may not know, I am a trained nail technician. Although I’m really good at looking after my hands, my feet are very neglected. Still, when Spring comes upon us and its time to dig out flip-flops I know I have to get my feet as presentable as possible. The first stage in my ‘Awake your Feet For Spring’ is a foot spa. This isn’t just for relaxation, but it also softens the skin, cuticles and nails for a pedicure.

Now firstly let me start by saying I have tried a few different foot spas in my time. From the professional ones with massage chairs at a salon to the at home foot spa experience much like the Elle Macpherson Aromatherapy Foot Spa I am reviewing today. This one is really very good and with the exception of the massage chair at a salon, very comparable to that kind of luxury experience.
The Elle Macpherson Aromatherapy Foot Spa has different functions which you can have going all at the same time or individually (With the exception of the light as that is either off, blue or green depending what setting you put it on).
The massage setting gives a nice strong (But not uncomfortable or ticklish) vibration which is great for relieving tired, sore feet.
The bubbles setting keeps the water warm you put in there (It will not heat cold water though, you must start with warm water in there and only fill to the MAX level indicator on the inside). It also generates lots of bubbles which come up from under your feet and around them. Its a nice relaxing sensation and my favourite part about this foot spa.
There is also a mist setting. If you are using aromatherapy oils in the foot spa you can use this setting to generate a mist. The mist carries the aromatherapy fragrance into the air adding to the spa experience. This setting is a new one to me and I have not had this on ANY other foot spa I have used. It made the experience more relaxing and with the addition of the coloured lights, was very tranquil to watch.
The Elle Macpherson Aromatherapy Foot Spa also comes with 2 interchangeable pumice stones for helping with the hard skin on your feet, Frangipani Oil (Which smells heavenly) and full instructions. All you need to do is put water in there and have a couple of towels handy (One for under the foot spa, the other to dry your feet with after).
Overall, I think this is one of the best foot spas I have ever used! I can’t wait to do another pedicure on a client so they can try the experience too – although I am sure they will love it! Although slightly more expensive than some, the experience is lovely and whether you are using this to relieve tired feet after a hard day or to give yourself a home pedicure foot pamper I don’t think you can go wrong with this one, I highly recommend it and would also say it would make a perfect gift idea!
The Elle Macpherson Aromatherapy Foot Spa from HoMedics costs £74.99 and will be launching shortly at Argos stores and online.
