Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts and some swatches on the Crystal-G colour change uv gel nail polish in TH06…
Now I normally don’t do uv gel polish reviews, but I get so many compliments on my colour changing polishes I decided too start (And I rarely find swatches of them on nails too look and before buying – surely others have the same issue?). Crystal-G is a new company to me, I usually use Bluesky and when ordering recently saw that Amazon now stocked Crystal-G and decided to give them a go.
What I really like about the colour changing (Or chameleon as they are sometimes known) gel nail polishes is how unique they are. As your hand temperature often changes, it means your polish does too. Whenever I wear these polishes I get a lot of compliments and usually surprised people when I explain I haven’t got ombre nails and that its heat reactive.
Now I’m not going to go into the process of Soak off gel polish as its long winded, this is purely a review/swatch post. You will need a uv lamp, soak off base and top coat, finishing solution and lint free cloths when using soak off polishes.
When it comes to lasting wear I find you can get 7-14 days of wear, this depends on how heavy handed you are obviously. On some nails it doesn’t last as long and can peel. I often change my polish colour before I need too and with these change them ever 7 days, so can only comment on wearing it for that period of time. However, in that time I only got ‘buffing’ marks and the varnish didn’t chip or scratch in a way that you would notice (Its mainly a buff mark on the top coat).
I did find with this Crystal-G th06 gel polish that it took a good 3 coats to get it opaque and they were heavy coats. I don’t usually get this with my Bluesky formula which can take just 2 coats. As its my first polish from them I will be buying more to see whether it was just my polish or its across their formulas. However, it just means a few extra minutes as you will be curing an additional coat.
The results are striking in TH06, you have a beautiful raspberry shade when your nails are colder, this changes into a bright (Almost) neon like yellow when hot. It is amazing and I mean truly in your face! Generally my nails are the raspberry shade or look like an amazing ombre effect (As you can see from the images I have taken). I can see this being a super popular shade for Summer and even Spring! I have taken photos of it in different stages, so you can see just how pretty it is.
