Its not often I fall for a nail varnish, but the new Barry M Gelly Nail Polish in Black Cherry was one I actually specifically went to town to buy as it looked that amazing!

If you follow my blog you will know the Barry M Gelly nail polishes are one of my favourite formulas. I have <tries to count>… Let’s just say I have most the the shades that have been released and they are my most repurchased nail varnishes too.

For me though, seeing Black Cherry was complete INSTALOVE! If there was a nail varnish that should be named after me, this is it. Although Melanie does actually mean, ‘Of the night, mysterious, dark, black’, so its actually pretty close!

I’m not going to talk about the formula etc of Barry M Gelly nail varnishes as I think I’ve done that enough in my previous posts. Let’s just say the formula is really good and looks amazing if you like a high gloss finish.

Black Cherry in my opinion is the same as ‘Red Black’ although by Barry M but in their Nail Paint range (See post here). The colours are almost identical, however its just the plumper formula of the Gelly range that makes them different. I adore Red Black so knew this one was going to be for me.

If you like your nails super dark, that almost black look but not quite, then Black Cherry is for you. It almost reminds me slightly of OPI Black Cherry Chutney (See Post Here) although that’s a little more purple. However, this one does’t ‘bleed’ like the OPI formula and is also a fraction of the price!

As you can see from the swatches in natural light it does almost look black, with a flash you can see those red undertones. Almost like a black current. This is shade looks amazing on ANY length and shape nails, its definitely a vampish shade and perfect for the Autumn/Winter season.

The Barry M Gelly Nail Polish in Black Cherry costs £3.99 and is available from Boots and Superdrug.
