When it comes to curls that last in my opinion you cannot go wrong with heated rollers. Today’s review is on the Babyliss Boutique Salon Ceramic Rollers the perfect addition to your hair tools for creating great waves and curls.
Rollers used to be a thing many would associate with the elderly, usually the plastic kind you would then dry and set under a hood dryer (One of the things I remembered hated doing back when I trained as a hairdresser!). Zoom forward to today and heated rollers are now BIG and something you shouldn’t over look just because you have a hair tong. In fact, in my opinion heated rollers will hold a curl or wave better than a hair tong due to you allowing them to cool before taking them out, so the curls are set in your hair.
I have been trying out the Babyliss Boutique Salon Ceramic Rollers on my hair and daughters and have to say they are SO much better than my old set of Babyliss heated rollers. For those who like a little more technical information, here’s some information on the Babyliss Boutique Salon Ceramic Rollers…
Introduce these divine Boutique Salon Rollers in to your hair styling routine. Create long-lasting curls, waves and add dramatic volume effortlessly with these 32mm heated rollers – achieving salon results every time. The Boutique hot rollers feature a dual source heating system which help form beautiful, long-lasting curls quickly. Specially contoured heated clips help ensure fast results with a flawless finish – kink free!
A ‘heat ready’ dot on top of one roller helps indicate when the heated rollers are ready to use. Just watch the dot turn from red to white signalling they’ve reached the optimum temperature and are now ready to use. A soft to the touch coating on the rollers ensure that they are easy to apply and remove, as well as ensuring the rollers are at a comfortable temperature to touch and handle.
The roller clips are housed on a heated bar which simultaneously heats the clips ready to secure each roller in place – so the hair is heated from both the inside and out – for much longer-lasting results.
Firstly the best thing about these rollers in comparison to others is the sheer size of them, each roller is 32mm in size. Many heated roller sets will come with an assortment of sizes which means if you are setting your hair with a larger wave you probably won’t have enough. However, with these large rollers you get 12 rollers, plus you also have 12 of the securing clips. These in my opinion are much better than pins and a lot more secure.
I find the best thing to do when setting your hair is working on second day hair, these rollers need to be used when your hair is dry, so either wash and blow dry your hair or work on hair the following day. I also recommend putting these in before doing your makeup or getting ready. That way they can cool down while you are doing other things so your hair will set nicely and hold throughout the day. These rollers heated up fast which really helped compared to my old set which could take 5-10 minutes!
How you put them in your hair depends really on the effect you want to achieve. As you can see from the video below, placing the rollers going away from the face on the top of your head and having them facing horizontally down the sides and back creates a beautiful loose wave effect when taken out. If you set the rollers vertically around the sides you will achieve more of a spiral effect with your curls (Great if you are brushing them out for some retro glamour).
You really can create a variety of looks with heated rollers and its something you can have great fun with. I also recommend using them if you are putting your hair up to create volume and movement within your up do!
The Babyliss Boutique Ceramic Rollers really are the best I have used. I own several Boutique products from Babyliss and I cannot fault them. Babyliss in my opinion is one of the best brands when it comes to heated appliances and its why its the brand I always go to from my hair products. These heated rollers gave me the smooth curls which lasted all day and I thoroughly recommend them.
The Babyliss Boutique Salon Ceramic Rollers cost £50.00 and are available from Babyliss, Boots and John Lewis Stores.
