Day 21 of my #30daysofred in November and I’m on the home straight! The red lipstick today is a special one as its a favourite formula of mine and an unusual toned red too.

I admit that I love a lipstick that doesn’t come off. In fact I pay good money for it to stay put. I remember when I was a younger the only way you could get a lipstick not to stay on was to apply that nasty Lipcote (Anyone remember that?), stung like crazy on your lips and made them feel so dry! Still nowadays companies have realised we don’t want out lippy budging and this is especially the case with reds, Today’s lipstick is the gorgeous Rimmel Provocalips in Play With Fire.

#30DaysOfRed Day 21 - Rimmel Provocalips in Play With Fire

The formula of the Rimmel Provocalips is a 2 stage process. Firstly you have the lip cream which has a sponge applicator. Its pretty easy to get a precise line but I would add to keep a cotton bud/q-tip handy as this one dries fast and then won’t budge if you do make a mistake. The lip cream is a pretty drying formula and isn’t meant to be worn alone thankfully. On the other end of this product you have the gloss or balm. This is applied over the lipcream once its dried and this is also the one you will top up with throughout the day. What I love about this system is it doesn’t budge as long as you keep the balm topped up on your lips. Drinking, kissing even smoking won’t shift this lippy but if that balm transfers and you are only left with the lip cream, then yes it will come off.

#30DaysOfRed Day 21 - Rimmel Provocalips in Play With Fire

The colour of Play With Fire is unusual in that its what I’d class as a russet red. In some lights it almost looks a copper brown and others its a full on dark burnt red. I filmed with this recently in my Huge haul Part 1 video and as you can see it looks a deep dark red there, but in these swatches there is definitely a hint of brown. I love this colour as its perfect on all skin tones and looks beautiful on. Great also for a night out or date night as it doesn’t transfer too!

The Rimmel Provocalips is available from Boots, Superdrug and supermarkets/pharmacies that stock Rimmel products. They cost around £6.99 each.
