Day 19 of my #30daysofred in November was a disappointment for me. I deliberately didn’t buy any new lipsticks for this challenge as I have so many. But I saw this one and bought it as it looked lovely, this is one of those ‘Looks great in the tube but not so much on the lips’.

Still i wanted to include this as although this colours not for me, I know this is a colour a lot of girls strive for, add to that its totally budget friendly and it had to be part of my #30daysofred. Let me introduce you to MUA Matte Lipstick in Scarlet Siren.

#30DaysOfRed Day 19 - MUA Matte Lipstick in Scarlet Siren

The formula of the MUA matte lipsticks is actually really nice, its not too drying, but has a matte appearance and looks good on the lips. I like that you don’t have to work hard to get good colour pay off, its pigmented and definitely on the moisturising side of the matte formulas out there.

However the colour in the tube to on the lips is completely different. I would call this a deep pink, where as I’m sure some would call it more of a lighter blue toned red. Either way this was more of a washed out one for me. It would be more of that transitional red from Summer to Autumn when you don’t want to wear a full on red or maybe Winter to Spring. I just wasn’t a huge fan of this one. My daughter owns this one too and on her it looks completely different, I guess lip pigmentation has a lot to do with it. However, for me this was a meh and one I probably won’t use again. But it was super cheap, so I can’t complain really.

The MUA Matte Lipsticks are available directly from MUA and also at Superdrug stores. They cost £1.00 each.
