I can’t believe how fast August has flown by, it must be because of the school holidays – I get a bit complacent and lazy! Still it’s the end of August which means only one thing… August Favourites time!! Like last time I have made it only 5 items as I’ll have you here all day and night otherwise.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation – This one may surprise you as I didn’t like it as much in my comparison of lasting foundation review but a few weeks ago I happened to be half asleep and putting my makeup on and reached for it by mistake. I didn’t realise till after I’d applied it and then just went with it. For 5 days I had spots and some bumps come out – which was my main problem with this foundation; I always have breakouts with Rimmel foundations. But after 5 days my skin became acclimatised too it and then it was fine. I really like the finish it’s giving at present, I’ve needed a bit more than a tinted moisturiser but not as much as a full coverage foundation and Lasting Finish is giving me that. At £6.99 I feel its quite reasonable and am so glad I reached for it!

Individual Lashes – I have gone potty for individual lashes! I have several brands now and this ‘favourite’ isn’t about a specific brand as such but a general. I really love the effect they give my eyes and that they aren’t damaging my lashes, I’m not losing lashes when I remove them (Or they come out) either. It’s also meant I’ve not been wearing mascara which sometimes I think my eyes need a break from! The ones I have in at present are Salon System lashes which I love but don’t think are any better than Ardell Individual Lashes. I am however using the Salon Systems Black Individual Eyelash glue which I find is really good. Definitely stronger than Eylure glue and it doesn’t have that strong smell either – least I don’t find so. However there must be vapours as I find my eyes sting a little when I’m applying the lashes. Prices vary; but if you shop around (I went on Amazon) you can pick up lash packs for around £3 and glue for about the same!

Clinique Superfine Liner for Eyebrows – Finally found something for my eyebrows I love. Until now I’ve been getting by with ELF Eyebrow Kit in light which is ok but I found I was only using the wax. The powder was giving me too much of a dense fill in and no definition. I purchased the Superline Liner as I’d seen it in some reviews and on YouTube and I liked that they had a good shade range. I bought mine in Blonde and have been using it every day since. It stays put on your brows really well, is small so you can get a really accurate brow line and the colour is spot on for me. For £11 I think it’s a complete bargain and mine only cost me £1 as I used some of my Debenhams Beauty Points!

Collection 2000 Cream Puff in Fairy Cakes – Everyone has heard of the Cream Puffs now by Collection 2000 but if you haven’t I did an introduction blog post to them all. My 2 favourites are Cotton Candy and Fairy Cakes but this month I have found Fairy Cakes is the one I reach for the most. I love the velvet like texture as you apply it to your lips, the smell is heavenly and sweet and I find the colour lasts really well. I am quite a fan of the ‘matt’ look lipstick and often wear them on their own. Sometimes I’ll add a small amount of gloss to my inner lip but mostly find I don’t need too as they are so moisturising! You can get them in Boots and Superdrug quite easily and they cost £2.99.

BC Bonacure Sun Protect Shampoo and Sun Protect Spray – I’ve cheated with my last one as it’s actually 2 products but I personally feel you don’t use a shampoo without a form of conditioner so they are being added together as 1 favourite. I have only used this product a handful of times but already I love it! This month I’ve done the rounds with trying different shampoo and conditioners and not really stuck to a specific one as my scalps been playing up a lot. But I can honestly say I love these! I will do a review on it in the next few days but it’s made by Schwarzkoph Professional and its a new product they have launched as part of their new BC Bonacure Sun Protect Range. The conditioner I have been using is BC Bonacure Sun Protect Spray and is a leave in conditioning sun protection spray. As you can tell there’s lots to tell about these 2 products and I’ll review them later this week but I absolutely love them and the way they are making my hair feel!!! The BC Bonacure Sun Protect Shampoo is £9.30 for 250ml and the BC Bonacure Sun Protect Spray is £10.45 for 200ml.

So that’s my Top 5 August Favourites. I wonder what Top 5 I’ll be picking for September? Before I go, here’s a photo of me today actually wearing 4 of the 5 favourites – you could say I have all 5 favourites in use as I’ve washed and dried my hair too and used the BC Bonacure Shampoo and Spray!

Have you tried any of the products in my Top 5 August Monthly favourites? What’s your Top 5 products? Leave me your blog address as a comment so I can see.

Lots of Love,

Mel xxxx
