Probably one of the most controversially reviewed products I’ve ever come across. I read so many reviews and watched so many YouTube videos on the John Frieda Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray before buying it. For every 10 people who loved it, there was 10 people who hated it and what it did to their hair.
This is my take on what I thought, who can use it (If they choose) and what it will do to your hair in my opinion…
Its rather a brutal review, but after seeing so many people talk about it and from a hair dressers point of view some of the things people said I felt were slightly misleading. I believe when reviewer mentioned it didn’t contain peroxide – which I can honestly say it does. The Shampoo and Conditioner in this range (I believe) do not contain peroxide which is maybe where the confusion came in.
This is purely my take on it though and my experience of using the John Frieda Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray. If anyone was to ask me whether I recommend they use it in honesty I would treat this much like I would any chemical treatment process (Colouring, perming, relaxing etc) – DO A STRAND TEST and SENSITIVITY TEST! I cannot stress that enough. If you are going to have a reaction to it you will know from the sensitivity test and the strand test will determine what it is likely to do to your hair.
I can’t take any responsibility for what this product may or may not do to your hair, this review is purely based on my own findings. I’m sorry if that’s a bit blunt, but with such a controversial product I feel I must be honest with you about what I thought. This product will cause damage to your hair, to what degree I can’t honestly say, but there will be some damage as its a chemical treatment and it contains peroxide!
John Frieda Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray can be purchased from most pharmacies and some supermarkets, I purchased my from Tescos and it cost £7.00 for 100ml of product.
Have you tried any of the john Frieda Go Blonder range? What were your findings?
Lots of Love,
