Having had psoriasis and eczema for years now I’ve tried a wide range of products on the market. Some work great for me, while others have caused irritation. As my children have grown, 2 of them both have eczema and dry sensitive skin which has meant finding products that not only work for me, but for them also.

I was recently asked if I would like to try a product from A-Derma, here are my thoughts and findings on their Exomega Emollient Cream.

Here is a little information straight from A-Derma about their product;

Emollient care for very dry and atopic skin. Infants, children, adults.

The packaging of the Emollient cream is extremely secure. This is one of the first creams I have every had which had a ‘sealed’ plastic part on the lid, so you knew no one had used it before. The flip top lid makes the cream convenient to use and is fairly stiff, so unlikely to leak if in a bag.

As the product is in a tube, its quite easy to only use what you need, this means less mess and less waste. I don’t particularly like creams I have to pour as I always pour too much.

The cream its self isn’t as thick as I though it would be. Having used several Emollient Creams I usually find them really thick and sometimes harder to work into the skin. However, this cream felt ‘wetter’ as softer in consistency. It made me wonder whether the cream wouldn’t be as effective or if I’d need to apply more product to get good coverage on the dry areas of my skin. However, I was extremely impressed as a small amount of cream goes a really long way.

Another plus point with this cream was that some Emollient Creams are too heavy for your normal skin, so if you ‘over’ applied you would have to wipe product away (Again wasting money), with the Exomega Emollient Cream I found it was really moisturising if applied to other areas. It especially was lovely on my dry, scaly legs after shaving them.

As this cream was designed for people with extremely dry, sensitive skin I was still worried in case there would be a reaction to either myself or children. We all used the cream twice daily as recommended and noticed no reactions to our skin. There was no stinging when applied directly to the eczema either.

With regards to appearance, I noticed an improvement on my son’s back where he has always had really dry skin. The skin was much softer and moisturised and meant he found it less itchy. My daughter who has eczema on the crease of her elbows also noticed an improvement in the condition of the skin. This meant it was more comfortable for her too. My main problem areas of eczema and psoriasis are on my face, under my eyes the skin felt more moisturised and less flakey. I also noticed I wasn’t itching as much. So, all round I felt this cream worked wonders.

I would recommend this cream for anyone or any age. It has worked on a my son who is 6, my daughter who is 10 and myself. I would happily apply it to a baby too who has dry skin as its gentle enough and contains no parabens and is also fragrance free.

Having now tried the Exomega Emollient Cream I am not going Emollient Foaming Gel. Bath products are something that we really struggle with and I feel this would be excellent for my families skin! I will definitely be purchasing other products in the range and am extremely glad to have foung A-Derma as a brand.
