Real Techniques Foundation Brush

Being the huge fan of Real Techniques that I am, when I needed a new foundation brush I knew I would probably choose one of theirs. I already have the Expert Face Brush (Review Here), Buffing Brush (Review Here), Stippling Brush (Review Here) and Miracle Complexion Sponge (Review Here) that I use for foundation application, but wanted something that would give me a ‘heavier’ coverage. Here are my thoughts on the Foundation Brush from Real Techniques and whether I think it should make your collection.

Here is a little information about the Real Techniques Foundation Brush…

The angled cut lets you build the coverage you need for airbrushed, high-definition results:

  • look pixel-perfect even in harsh light
  • ultra-plush, synthetic bristles are hand-cut and 100% cruelty-free
  • self-standing for easy storage
  • extended aluminum handle is light and easy to use

Firstly I want to start by saying I love my Real Techniques brushes, I have quite a lot of the collections available and have also repurchased many so I have doubles. I find their quality amazing and even my Core Collection brushes which are all VERY well used and now over 2 and a half years old are still in amazing condition! So, I go back to them time and time again. I find them better than my Sigma brushes and more reasonable in price too.

Real Techniques Foundation Brush

The Foundation brush does exactly what I want it to do (Well, bar bring me breakfast in the morning). My liquid and cream foundations go on slightly heavier but without being cakey. I can evenly distribute a small amount of product around my face and get the best coverage that particular foundation can give me. In fact, since getting the Real Techniques Foundation Brush I have not worn foundation as such and opted for a BB cream, something I never would wear out normally if I was going somewhere special. I find a thin layer applied with the Foundation Brush is enough, those areas I have some scaring and old spot pigmentation I just apply a dab more BB cream and its enough for me. I even like using the Foundation brush for concealing now too. By using the ‘flat length’ of the brush you can push/pat the product onto your face much like you would your fingers. The angled tip is great for getting a close, precise application around the eyes and nose and the dense bristles (Which are not stiff but firm) seem to work the foundation around my face better than any of my other foundations brushes which are similar. I only bought this one as I wanted something with a slight angle and am over the moon with it. I do still use my Miracle Complexion Sponge each day, but mostly use that now for concealer around my eye area and powder application to set my makeup.

Real Techniques Foundation Brush

I thoroughly recommend Real Techniques brushes. They are my go to brand for brushes and the ones I recommend to friends too. Reasonably priced, great quality and with a little practice you can also get amazing results just like a pro!

The Real Techniques Foundation Brush is available at Boots, Superdrug and other online stores.  Prices are around £9.99.
