It seems almost shameful wearing one of my Winter colours on my nails on a bright beautiful sunny day but I saw this colour earlier sitting there in my box and couldn’t resist putting it on. This is the ELF (Eyes Lips and Face) nail varnish in Dark Navy. I have taken a few shots of it so you can hopefully get a look at its true colour – a deep midnight blue with soft blue sparkles. This isn’t an obvious glitter effect polish so don’t think you are going to glow like Edward Cullen but a subtle sheen which makes the almost ‘black’ looking nails look a beautiful toned blue.
As you can see the ELF nail varnishes come in a box which storage wise it quite good. They are well packed and quite safe so no chances of leaking. The picture above of the bottle is quite a true shade comparison. This nail varnish is really hard to photo and not come off as looking black. As you can see it is a dark blue with a slight glitter like constistancy.
The two shots above are with two coats of Dark Navy polish applied to my nails, I have not applied a top coat to them and as you can see they have a gloss finish. The colour I promise is a dark midnight blue and not a black.
I really love this colour, the constistancy of ELF nail varnishes must have changed as this is a much better finish and product to the previous ELF polish I tried and hated. It doesn’t look like it will chip easily and two coats was ample with this extremely dark shade. I bought this for 75p when ELF had their last ever 50% offer on, but it is normally only £1.50 which I think is more than reasonable.
Have you tried any of ELF nail varnishes? What was your opinion?
Lots of Love,
