Having sensitive, combination skin with eczema and psoriasis can make finding skin care products a tall order. I struggle with almost all foaming cleansers and tend to stick to cream cleansers that don’t require rinsing. I find soap like cleansers often dry my skin out and break me out too. Not forgetting my psoriasis then flares up. Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser from Neutrogena claims to be suitable for sensitive skin. I admit I was slightly excited as I hoped this product would work for me and it does!
Hydro Boost Gel Cleanser appears like a clear gel. Slightly runny in consistency it feels like light like a watery gel. There is a fresh scent to the gel but it is light and does not cling to the skin. I love that the packaging is a pump action bottle with a twist sealing lid. So good for travel and unlikely to leak.
Application is easy. Just wet your skin with water, apply a pump or two of the Hydro Boost cleanser to your palm, emulsify with some water and massage into the skin. Then you just need to rinse and pat dry. You are left with fresh, cleansed skin which feels hydrated. There’s a tightening feel to the skin I find after using this product, but not like a drying sensation you get from soap.
Amazingly I have had no reactions what so ever since using the Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser. I will say when I wash my face with the cleanser there is a slightly stinging sensation around my nose where the psoriasis currently it. Its not really uncomfortable nor does it remain after I have rinsed my face. There’s no aggravation to the skin after use. I also haven’t had any spot breaks out either which is something I’ve had a lot worse lately (Pre-menopause hormones I think).
To conclude I’m really pleased to have tried Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser. Finally I’ve an emulsifying cleanser to use that I don’t have a reaction to and makes my skin feel clean. I think its a really good price too when you are only using 1-2 pumps per application. I’ve been using this twice a day and think it will last a reasonable amount of time too. So for the sensitive skin people out there I would definitely check out the Hydro Boost range from Neutrogena and their Water Gel Cleanser, its worked for me.
