I love to choose gifts for friends and family that are personal and candles are a huge favourite for me to give to them. Over the past decade home fragrance has become a big thing and more people are turning towards candles. I’ve always had candles and insense in my home and love the scents and also atmosphere they set. They really can change your mood and general well being, I also feel they look really attractive.

La Montaña Candles are a new brand to me, but I have to say I am super impressed by their Winter Oranges Candle and think it would make a perfect Christmas gift.

Here is a little information about the La Montaña Winter Oranges Candle…

Winter Oranges candle – A warm, spicy, zesty blend of Valencia orange, cinnamon, red apple, and clove.

This is our interpretation of the fragrance of the Valencian orange harvest that takes place throughout winter, with added hints of nostalgia from the English Christmases of our childhoods.

All our candles are 220gms of top quality wax (burning for at least 40 hours), include a high percentage of natural and essential oils, and are hand poured by artisan candlemakers.

All candles are gift-boxed and cellophane-wrapped.

Before even taking the cellophane off of the candles packaging, you can already smell the fragrance. I love spice at Christmas, in fact as soon as its November I start spraying room fragrances, lighting candles and overdosing in they scent. The La Montaña Winter Oranges Candle is a perfect addition if you love that orange and spice Christmas scent with an element of Spain.

The candle is presented in a box and contained in a nice solid glass glass. It doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy and looks good. I also love that the candle is a cream neutral shade, so if like me you like to coordinate your decor, it will fit with all colour schemes.

What really surprised me was the fragrance upon lighting it though. As the candle is heavily fragrance before lighting it, I was expecting to be over powered with the scent. However, it burns with a good intensity without being heady. I also found that the heavy orange scent seems to lesson and be slightly more subdued when lit, letting the other notes in the candle come through. Its a very warming, calming and relaxing scent and fragranced my large living room in about 5 minutes.

The burn time on this candle is at least 40 hours and judging by how well made it is, I would say you could easily get a greater burn time from it.

Over all, I’ve been really impressed with the quality and fragrance of the La Montaña Winter Oranges Candle. I feel the price does reflect both the craftsmanship with how the candle is made and the beautiful fragrance it emits. I would definitely buy this as a Christmas gift for friends and family and happily receive one too.

Having also smelt the Galán de Noche candle (Night scented Jasmine) and First Light Candle (Wild mountain herbs), I would also say these would make excellent gifts. Although the fragrances don’t have the same Christmas theme. My favourite is definitely the Winter Orange, but First Light would be a close second for me.

You can purchase the La Montaña Candles, directly from their website. Each candle costs £35.00 each.
