After finding out I have a chest infection today I’ve been feeling a little sorry for myself. It just seems to be one thing after another; add to that the lack of sleep from coughing all night and I’m pretty grumpy and miserable – I am seriously hoping you can’t tell this from the way I write my posts!

This afternoon I decided to have a little fun and cheer myself. I always feel happier when I’m playing with hair, make up or nail varnish; its like being a little girl again and playing dress up.

Since going brunette I’ve been trying to find what colours work with my hair now. From changing from Blonde to Brunette it has altered my whole makeup look to a degree. Eyeshadows are still a bit hit and miss but I am exploring colours daily to see what works (I will pop an eye of the day post up sometime with ‘greens’ as with blue eyes and dark hair it looks amazing and my eyes are popping!!).

I came up with this look using one of my Sleek palettes – the Au Naturel Palette which is part of the Nude Collection (Review Here). This is one of the palettes I almost always go to out of my Sleek collection (I have A LOT of Sleek palettes).

Sleek Nude Collection Au Naturel Palette Shadow Names

It is a lovely collection of Nude shades, some shimmer and some matt. I just find it very easy to use and its also very reasonable in price (You can purchase this from some Superdrug stores or direct from Sleek Makeup)

The products I used to create my look today are;

Rimmel Wake Me Up Make Up Foundation in 201 Classic Beige

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Medium Shade 3

MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush

Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder (Chocolate Version)

St Tropez Bronzing Rocks

Smashbox Lipstain in Sangria (Just the tinted balm side none of the stain was applied)

Maybelline The Colossal Cat Eye Effect Mascara

L’Oreal Carbon Gloss Liner

Royal False Lashes (For more information on these click here and see this post)

NYX Jumbo Pencil in Yoghurt (This was used as a base for the eyeshadow on the lid and worked like a primer)

Sleek Au Naturel Palette (Nude Collection) –

Bark was used to fill in my brows.

Toast was blended across the whole lid and into the crease with the NYX Jumbo pencil in Yoghurt.

Taupe was applied to the middle of the lid and patted in place.

Nougat was applied to the inner corner and brow as a highlight.

Regal was applied in the crease, lower lash line and outer corner. It was blended and then re-applied for depth.

I then did a winged liner, a coat of mascara and added my false lashes.

I love the purple berriness of ‘Regal’ as it seems to really warm everything up. In future I will probably add more Regal or maybe even some Sleek ‘Fenberry’ blush mixed with the Regal to give it a little more warmth.

I kept the lips nude and because of my new dark hair warmed my face with bronzer (I am already back on self tanning weekly again to keep some colour on me).

What did you think of the look? Do you have day playing with makeup?

Lots of Love,

Mel xxxx
