Firstly, you will know I have certainly had my share of hair extensions and have tried so many different types (Both semi-permanent and clip ins) that I have seen a lot of different hair. Some is better than others and I think hair extensions are one of those things were you do get what you pay for. With Irresistible Me being a company based overseas you may be put off (If you are from the UK or elsewhere) of taking the plunge with a someone further a field, so here are my thoughts honestly on these extensions and whether I feel they are worth the risk of ordering from overseas.
The hair extensions come in a nice black box. This is perfect for storage and quite sturdy. I actually store mine in there when I am not wearing them. I felt this was a lot better than the naff plastic sleeves you often get and looked more professional. Inside the box you have a sealed packet. Here’s what you need to do;
‘You will notice the wefts carefully packaged in a plastic bag with two sections. The smaller section contains the sample weft that you should open first and make sure the color, length and general hair quality is what you want. If everything matches your expectations, you can open the bigger section with the rest of the wefts. If you decide you want to exchange or return them, refrain from opening the second section, otherwise the guarantee will be void and we won’t be able to make the exchange or refund for you.’
These extensions are not blunt cut on the bottom and the ends are tapered. This gives a much more natural feel to the extensions. I know some companies leave them with really straggly looking ends, but I felt these ends looked good and didn’t need trimming at all. They are tapered from about 1-2″ down just for reference.
Although this is the 200g set so a serious amount of hair, there was also so many pieces too! This set comes in 10 pieces, what surprised me was ALL WEIGHTS come in 10 pieces, so whether you have the 100g, 140 or 200g set, you will still have 10 pieces of hair. Trust me, its A LOT of hair and I cannot for the life of me get all these clipped in, not without some serious VOLUME! Even to get the length in my shoulder length hair I found I could easily wear the quad weft with the 2 6″ pieces and 2 1.5″ and look like I had big, long luscious hair!. This 200g set would be perfect for the ladies with shorter hair who need more wefts to blend. If you love a lot of volume too, then I would recommend it! We are talking BIG HAIR here ladies and its beautiful.
The wefts were machine sewn and looked good. When I brushed through them I had minimal hair loss, so I would saw the sewn wefts are good. The clips were securely sewn on too and they are the standard size clip with silicone band under the vented part, so fit securely on your hair and don’t drag out or damage your hair.
The quad weft is usually the piece I have most issues with and don’t use. Namely as it isn’t secure enough on my hair and is too heavy. What surprised me with this weft wasn’t just how thick it was (Believe me its so thick you can wear it alone with just a couple of side pieces clipped in if your hair is long enough), but how secure it was clipped in. I didn’t feel the weight at all and it was comfortable. It also looked really natural giving me good length and volume! Its great also if you want to create a messy bun and don’t have enough hair to pull it off!
As with ALL #613 shades I have EVER been sent, I had to tone these before wearing them. As its easy to make a mistake with silver/purple shampoos, I would recommend either mixing your purple shampoo with water to dilute it, or mixing a little violet (Directions is good for this) with a lot of conditioner to a pale lavender (Or even Directions White toner is good on its own) and using that. Once toned they were a perfect match and looked and felt amazing still – in fact you wouldn’t know I’d washed and toned them, they felt like when they had just arrived!
The most important part of this review I feel is the hair quality its self. The hair is VERY good. Its one of the best I’ve had (Even with companies that are more expensive) and so soft. Even once I had washed them (I always clarify before toning extensions and this often removes silicone coatings which can make them drier) they were still beautiful, soft and glossy. They looked new still.
One thing I want to mention for those who are blonde is there was some darker hairs amongst the blonde. This does give more of a multi tonal effect but wanted to put that out there. I often find this with extensions. If you aren’t platinum and more of a darker blonde these would not notice as much. Although I don’t think you see them less you look closely anyway and are only really noticeable on closer inspection.
As you can see from the before and after pics, they look great! Such a difference and all it takes is 5 minutes to clip them in! I have deliberately styled them straight as I find that is the hardest way especially with shorter hair to blend them, just so you can see how natural they look. I love them, instant length and volume!
Over all I have been so impressed with these extensions. Not just because they are super thick (I’d expect that from 200g) but because of the quality. They are really comfortable to wear, look amazing on (I have had a lot of compliments including people thinking they are my own hair) and so soft. I notice minimum tangling when wearing (I only get it at my nape, but found it was a lot better with these extensions than some) and they don’t shed a lot either. Even after washing them, the hair loss was minimal. When I brush them they don’t shed a lot either, in fact its only a few hairs. These are definitely one of the best quality extensions I have tried and I would definitely consider ordering from them again when it comes to getting new extensions based on these ones.
