Review: MUA Makeup Academy Blush Perfection Cream Blusher in Blossom

With Summer (finally ) upon us I’m back today with a must have in my books, a cream blusher from MUA Makeup Academy Professional which is gentle on the pocket and amazing on the skin!MUA Makeup Academy Blush Perfection Cream Blusher in Blossom

Here is a little information about the new cream blushers from MUA…

Enhance your complexion and say goodbye to dull-looking skin!

These cream blushers are very versatile and multi-purpose. They can be directly applied to bare skin, layered over foundation or set with the matching matte blushers in the £1 MUA range. You can use blush perfection to highlight your cheekbones, shape your face, build and blend with fingers or a brush to create the colour intensity. The colour effects range from a light pink to warm shade, depending on method of application.

When it comes to Summer for its all about that ‘glow’. Strange when in the Winter you are trying to remove all signs of ‘shine’. But Summer I like to look dewy, fresh faced and more natural. I tan quite naturally and use products that enhance my natural colouring. Finding a reasonable priced cream blusher can be hard. In the past few years more drug store brands have released them into their collections, but its only recently that MUA Makeup Academy Professional have released their own – in 4 beautiful colours.

For those not in the know MUA Makeup Academy and what I call my ‘budget brand’. Their products are more than reasonable (Starting at just £1!) and are great for those on a budget or just starting out with makeup. My daughters both use their products and love that they are affordable on their pocket money budgets too!

I purchased my Blush Perfection Cream Blusher in Blossom. This was the colour which said to me ‘glow’ and ‘tan’ without the orange. There are currently only 4 shades in their range but the others were more ‘pink’ and in Summer I opt for more of a bronze look, so if that’s what you like then Blossom is the shade for you.

The Blush Perfection Cream Blushers are really buildable on the skin and being cream formulas mean they blend effortlessly. Application can be done with your fingers or with a synthetic brush. I have used both these methods and found the application to be great in both cases (I use my Real Techniques Contour Brush when applying with a brush).

Before blending, the colour is a peachy bronze shade. Its light enough to suit even the palest skin (My daughter has tried it, so can vouch for this) but if you like a slightly deeper effect just apply a little more.

As you can see the result is subtle yet gives my cheeks a nice glow. This was just a light application and also on top of mineral powder foundation. Although, it suits just as well on cream products too.

Lasting power is good with this product. With it being so reasonably priced I don’t expect it to last me a full 12 hour day, however it does last a good amount of time and I find I can wear this 6 hours and then need to retouch it if I am going out. If you do apply it over powder it does last a little longer but doesn’t lose that ‘sheen’.

I think my most favourite thing I love about these blushers is that they are ‘non sparkly’ formulas. So you don’t have that ‘cheap glittery’ look. In fact if I were to liken them to another product it would probably be the Liz Earle cream blushers, in fact Blossom is a close dupe for their ‘Nude’ shade which is one of my all time favourites (And at a fraction of the cost!).

The MUA Makeup Academy Blush Perfection Cream Blusher cost £2 for 3.2g of product. They last really well on the skin and will be a welcome addition to ANY makeup collection. I know I will definitely be buying the other shades even if I don’t use them as much! You can purchase them at selection Superdrug stores and online and through the MUA Makeup Academy Store – http://www.muastore.co.uk/.

Lots of Love,
